This is a video worth listening to over and over and over some more. I'm only a person who got into the hobby of purchasing fragrances because because Covid happened. I used to think $39 for a bottle of cologne was too expensive. Im retired from the Army after a 21-year career. Dior Sauvage was my first fragrance in June 2021. Now, after a few(42) fragrances later, including Burlington 1819, I really feel I'm only looking to purchase luxury. Your fragrances are considered to be luxury. It really seems like you know what you're talking about when it comes to different batches. Also, this seems like pure common sense. The science education in perfumery, which deals with chemistry is absolutely huge. I've never heard this pointed out in any fragrance reviewer. Aaron Hughes has spoken about it, however, Aaron is a perfumer. A completed scent is awesome. Finally finished. This was an outstanding answer and great knowledge to receive from you. I have to purchase more from your house.

Rasasi Oudh Al Boruzz Asrar Indonesia is a natural oud scent which contains fresh notes like ginger, bergamot and grapefruit. Although still a heavy scent - and certainly not mass appealing - this oud does come off quite fresh. The natural ouds used in this perfume are from Indonesia and India.

I have a little pet theory about these big bureaucratic prohibitions. They're set up less to protect consumers (although in certain cases I'm sure they succeed at that), than to get rid of competitors to the largest firms that operate in a certain markets (or are lobbied for by very large corporations for the reason you give, to produce products advertised as one thing but actually modified to be cheaper to mass produce). I want to use a slightly different example to illustrate this point: milk. Say, a lot of small farmers are selling milk at farmers markets and such, but then one person somewhere gets sick from tainted milk. So large mega-corporations lobby for compulsory pasteurization of all milk. The reason they do this is not due to fears of contamination, but because only the largest firms can afford the large machinery necessary to pasteurize milk. By lobbying for this prohibition of unpasteurized milk, a firm can, without appearing to do so, effectively achieve a monopoly over night, by being the only firm that owns heavy pasteurization machinery.

So is there anything like wearing too much perfume for it to be cloying? How much is enough? And is it true that in wearing perfume, less is more? I wore ROJA Haute Luxe last Sunday but during the powdery stage I felt like suffocating because I applied in both clavicles. Lol

Find the right balance for you but always be conscious not to drown yourself in scent as it can become a bit overpowering for those around you. A few sprays on each wrist and across the clavicle, followed by walking into a fine mist is always my preferred option.

Literally returned 300ml of aventus some years ago because it would flee off my skin after 10 minutes. The store tested it with me and gave my money back. The bottle i had before was fine. Hi Roja I appreciate the open way you address the use of fecal notes in perfume at 22.24. In it you explain the unconscious arousal of a tiny hidden amount of fecal notes which take our mind to the genital area due to the proximity of the anus to the genitals. In addition to this I'd like to suggest another aspect which is the attractiveness of the anus and buttocks in itself (not just because of its proximity to the genitals). It is curious why this part of the body should be celebrated sexually, given that it plays no part in reproduction. My take is that the bacteria in that area are vital for us in building immunity, so we are attracted to this area as a matter of survival, in that we actually need the very bacteria (in small doses) that lay behind the fecal scent. If you think about ancient Greek statues, the focus is on the buttocks far more than the genitals. Thank you again for such an informative video and taking the time to answer so many questions, it is so interesting.
