Honestly I can see where spyder is coming from, at the end of the day if you have clients coming in at the time they supposed to and the artist not even making an effort to at least show up, he probably has had to stop what he was doing multiple times to explain the situation to the customer. Which not only wastes money but takes time away from his own customers.
