This video is for TVs with the Roku built-in. On your smart TV without a built-in Roku you would use the TV's menu settingsand remote to setup the antenna and scan for channels.

I cheched the box Exclude streeming Channels . It got rid of Roku channels and after that managed to get 5 local channels. Hope it helps. Also got frustrated and almost return my new antenna

Was having the same issue while watching the video and still had issues. We may all have the same exact tv but I just tried set up cable and antenna and that worked and put me on the station to be able to watch my old cable box stations.. I hope it helps for you guys

@@jepapin2 . I retried and changed Live TV Icon to Antenna Icon… Just for Reference. I then somehow removed the Roku Live TV Channels and was able to see just the scanned channels found when scanning. I now choose the antenna for the scanned local. And then from the main home/live TV list on the left side of screen, I choose that option to see the original Roku live TV channels preprogrammed. I hope that makes sense.

Here’s the deal. People want to be able to buy a new TV, and get the channels they used to get. This thing makes it almost impossible to maintain those channels, without, jumping through many hoops. See if you can make another video explaining how to just get your Hisense Ruko TV to EASILY get at the local, antenna channels, AFTER SCANNING for them.

Also, on my mom's tv, the local channels somehow were right inside the Roku guide. Now, I only see channel 115 like they removed that fast feature? I took back my Roku TV right after Christmas and hooked back up my standard non smart 32" Samsung TV so I could get my local channels again. Unless you're going to pay for cable or internet your not going to get extra"Free " channels. Just plug up your old TV and deal with it 😂

If you guys just want to watch basic channels all you have to do is go to settings and hits hide streaming channel. Make sure you check the box and this will give you the regular channels

Once you have scanned and looked for channels, you must put the atenna icon on the home page! That way you can click on ANTENNA and view the guide list. You see ROKU works off the WIFI for its streaming. If your WIFI/INTERNET goes out, then you can still turn on your TV, and click the Antenna Icon, and scroll to the channel you want to watch! You see this is a different connection, where as you need no WIFI/INTERNET to watch TV.@@jen4725

So I scanned the channels on antenna and got like 300+ channels on a brand new 2024 Philips Roku TV similar to this - I love it - BUT - I have trouble finding my basic channels I was used to on antenna - like ch 2-13 and the other stuff like 11-3, 13-3, 56-3 and many others I would potentially watch regularly. How to I find those basic local channels easily.??? They are buried within thos 300 channels - which I love - but I need to find basic stuff I used to watch - like say - Jeopardy on ch. 7 every night. Somebody help - I only just got this and will figure it out - but for now I am overwhelmed by all these other channels that play shows 24 hrs a day - like Bonanza or whatever lol - I love those and but I need my basic channels at my fingertips. Unlike the video - I didn't get 40 or 50 channels - I got hundreds to sift through. How do I get to those basic antenna channels??? Thanks.

Well, I figured out. I just wanted to watch the game and it's playing through my local CBS for free but Roku TV does not display those channels at all (plus it shows a thousand channels and it's impossible to navigate), I'm pretty sure cause it wants you to pay for Hulu or Paramount Plus. Anyways, the way you do it is to not be hooked up to the internet. If your setup is wireless you will have to hook up an ethernet cable to the TV (you have to do it this way otherwise it will go back to the original WiFi network automatically). Since the cable is NOT hooked up to anything it will give you an error code; restart the TV. At this point your Roku TV does not have internet. Scan for channels with an antenna and boom! Just local channels are just displayed. Hope someone benefits from this. Don't pay for monthly services ya'll!
