1) GREAT VIDEO. 2) The new rechargeable voice pro remote has TERRIBLE battery life. There are MANY complaints of the battery failing, MANY MANY MANY complaints. I've on my third remote and sick of the terrible design and lack of concern by ROKU concerning their remotes!

Okay I like the shortcut button. This is looking better than Apple TV. Can I assign the shortcut to be a specific TV input? I’m looking for a device where I can turn on the tv via voice (preferably through my Google home) and quickly switch between Netflix and my Nintendo switch. Also I would like a web browser or ability to easily cast for one. Also I want a very fast and snappy responsive and smooth UI which is what has me looking at Apple

The Ethernet is 10/100 and you will get significantly faster speeds via wifi in most cases.

I am currently using the Roku 2 for my Streaming and when I choose the KZbin Channel I get a pop-up that suggests I insert a memory chip, however, the Roku 2 doesn't have a place to insert a memory chip, so that pop-up message must pertain to later models than what I have. My question is do the newer Roku devices come with built-in memory so your channels don't have to take the time to download files they need before you can watch the channel? Up to this point, when I select the KZbin Channel it takes about 30 seconds for files to download to my player and then I can watch anything I want after that without any delay. I'm just asking if this issue of waiting for files to download is a thing of the past.

The problem with their stupid remotes is they use the same Wi-Fi channels they connect on. So you end up with a foreign Wi-Fi signal sitting on top of your current Wi-Fi. My Unifi AP's keep moving channels trying to avoid the stupid Wi-Fi from the Roku remote. I have the 4800R. I've forced my Roku to 2.4Ghz just to Not slow down my 5Ghz Wi-Fi. I've mostly mostly moved to 6Ghz at this point however.

I'm pretty much only minutes from cutting the cord. And after a lot of comparisons, I've talked myself into the Ultra. Something I can't find in my searches is the answer to a question "Should I pair this with a Roku enabled TV?" What do you think?

It won’t matter. If you have a Roku enabled TV, that basically means it has its own, separate Roku living inside the TV. From my experience it’s usually better to have a separate streaming device since the built-in interface on “smart TVs” can be kinda slow. But you don’t need a Roku enabled TV to use a Roku player.

QA: I have a 2020 ROKU Ultra unit in perfect working order. I run wired as I'm streaming DSL @ 3mbps download. The review cited that the 2022 model has the same internal specs (i.e., ARM Cortex A7 quad core) and 100mbps ethernet port, as the 2020. Other than featuring more / updated apps, will the 2022 unit improve or help maximize my signal or should I save my money.

3mbps will not help improve speed. you will still experience buffering. Might look into upgrading your isp services. Specially for streaming movie content. Good Luck .

Hey Phil, if you plan to cancel cable and switch to streaming you'll still need to pay for internet through Spectrum or another company. Roku doesn't offer an internet plan.

Nothing built in. There's some third-party apps but they're kind of sketchy IMO. You can always use cast your screen from your phone with Airplay, Google, etc.

There's a couple different ways to get content from CNN on Roku: 1) Free option: The CNN app as well as certain free apps like Pluto have various news stories you can stream for free (with ads). You won't get the full channel, though. 2) Paid option: If you subscribe to certain live TV streaming services, you can stream the same feed of CNN you'd get on cable, except over the internet through their app. The cheapest way to do this is with Sling TV and their plans start at $35/month.

I don't care for Roku devices at all. I prefer Chromecast with Google TV device and it's way better than any Roku device in my opinion. Plus Roku UI is very boring and basic. But I definitely enjoy your vid tho.
