Had a chance to play with this dual filter recently. It sounds great, but I am partial to Roland filter sounds. I agree the build quality is nice. The only thing is the placement of the cutoff and rez knobs. I just feel like it could have been laid out a little better as sometimes things feel a bit clumsy. Thoughts?

I have one and I must agree with what you're saying about how it's laid out. I'm definitely keeping it though. It just sounds so great. As a fan of Roland filter designs, I'm thinking about adding a Jove to my rack. My only gripe with that one being the lack of key-tracking. Can't have it all I guess. :)

Excellent video. Thanks so much! How did you get the sound and sequence at 5:05? Very acid psy vibes. Sounded so good!
@AiynZahevSounds6 жыл бұрын
sunil solanki thanks! The Metropolis was sending CV to the cutoff. I'm not sure how else to describe it but let me know if you have specific questions
@lebannerfan653 жыл бұрын
@@AiynZahevSounds any idea what you did for the 'bubbly' bassline going into the VCF? So it's that bubbly bassline + sequencing the cutoff w Metropolis? Loooove that sound. Does that sound right?
@AiynZahevSounds3 жыл бұрын
@@lebannerfan65 Yeah it's just the same bass note, a sawtooth, and the filter is being sequenced by CV from the sequencer

@@AiynZahevSounds that is one super musical cut off and resonance section then! :)) Just bought one because of your video. Should here after the weekend!

@@lebannerfan65 Yes I love this filter. Roland filters are awesome.

for the stereo patch, couldn't you have achieved the same with just one mono signal and duplicated it to both channels...?
@samirabiamodular62127 жыл бұрын
A signal is stereo when there is a difference between left and right channels. That's why I'm using a different OSC to feed each filter. If you just duplicate the same sound to Left and Right you still end up with a mono signal.

Thanks for the reply. I still don't quite understand; isn't each oscillator identical (same pulse wave and frequency)...? Or are they being modulated differently slightly?
@samirabiamodular62127 жыл бұрын
The nature of the oscillators creates the differences. The phase on each channel will be different and the tuning will almost always be slightly different. These add up to create a stereo image.

Ah, I see, thanks for explaining! Guess i'll have to get both of these modules now ;-)

do the inputs only attenuate or do they some db uplift also?
@samirabiamodular62126 жыл бұрын
They just attenuate

thx for the info. i was hoping it does a little bit amping.
