Sounds amazing! Gotta love actual analog coming from Roland again.

Robert Syrett agreed, been super interested in the 500 series!

Wonderful! Thank you for posting. I will grow myself a 500 System. It is just so basic. I love the sound so much! I am also glad they are going with the classic black and mirror cap style, which hardly anybody wants to stick with nowadays. I'd like to see it jam with the DFAM...

do all the these Roland Euro rack modules make that popping sound when changing the oscillator footage? I hate that popping sound...

Awesome. Do you have a list of modules somewhere? What case are you using?
@onceuponasynth6 жыл бұрын
Don't have a full list anywhere, but I'll try to write one up in the description next time. Case is an Intellijel 84hp 7U.

Cool! Thank you for your videos, they are consistently high quality and I learned a lot from watching them.

if you still have the sh 101, it would be great to compare it with this module, and check if the module can get close to the sound of the 101
@j-ltekbrain21776 жыл бұрын
It's supposed to be close to Roland 100M (www.vintagesynth.com/roland/sys100m.php), not the SH-101.

I think I like the bleeps when switching octaves.
@Unifono20126 жыл бұрын
It sounds awesome. But bleeps are annoying. Strange behavior
@reptilespantoso6 жыл бұрын
Doepfer VCOs have that too. If you want to get rid of that, I'd recommend an ACL Octave module. It's a precise fine tune control as well. And a mult for the 3 extra destinations (from one CV pitch input) www.audiophilecircuitsleague.com/product-details/oktave.html
@EvilDragon6665 жыл бұрын
Malekko guy said it's because they used non-shorting rotary switches (break the connection then make a new one, rather than making a new connection then breaking the old one, which is what shorting rotary switches are doing). Apparently nobody makes shorting rotary switches in the dimensions they wanted for this module. This is a terrible shame, since the modules sound amazing, but the bleeps when switching octaves are fucking ridiculous and for the price you pay, they should've come up with a better solution. It's practically a dealbreaker for me. :/ ACL Octave is fucking 175€ more to "fix" something that should've been working smoothly and without glitches from the get go. Ridiculous.

I haven't really studied it much but it seems cool on the surface. Can't afford one now but maybe one day.

What is the actual depth of this module? Haven't been able to find an exact number.

Lovely sounding module but I can't believe Malekko didn't buffer the octave switch properly... that glitch is so unnessesary

My 2-32" knob bleeps also, when rotated
@aidanvinum5 жыл бұрын
Too bad the range knob clicks... takes me out of the game. 16 hp is all i have left. I’d love a dual oscillator or a really good oscillator that would compliment my Mother 32.

SERIOUS FUCK UP on the octave switch, should not be happening nor released in such a state.

i love the idea of modular, but the sequencers everyone uses suck. they completely remove the performance aspect of an instrument and just play rigid notes. play the thing through a keyboard and add some life!
@NickHchaos6 жыл бұрын
Check out the stillson hammer mk2, this and a few others allow you to play multiple tracks at once with lots of changes and modulation, I use it for everything.

Yeah, I'm thinking Roland XP-80...That'll be killer. It's already got 2000+ patches, plus floppy stuff. I could entertain myself for a VERY long time with one of these...And you don't even NEED a band!
