God this brings back memories of the mid-late eighties when YAMAHA was KING of the electronic organs and I was in my prime playing them. And now I am 47!!!!! Looks a lot like the FX20/ FS70 Yamahas. Same design, same layout, similar sound concepts. Makes you realise how FAR AHEAD the YAMAHA'S were from anything else around. You just cannot beat the look of these organs they are so impressive. You were King if you had one of these in your home. I was SO PROUD when people came and I unleashed my FE50 Yamaha. Seems just like yesterday for me. I love your videos as it kinda makes you want to play again.

I watched the video of your Roland Competition. Wow after only 5 months playing you were exceptionally good. No wonder you won. You were so cute, I loved it when you said “I’m 10, going to be 11 in June” 😂 Mind you, you still are very cute 🤗 Love your videos keep up the good work.

Thank you for sharing; I did not realise that Roland tried to copy the idea of the "Yamaha Electone Festival". It seems that it was a good experience for you.

WAAAYYYY Back in the mid-60's my twin brother and I were hired to go out to fairs and etc. to play Hammond M-100's back to back Duets. Gimmicky but fun. Thanks for your Vids. I might have to pick up a Roland Atelier. I have a Hammond Collonade. 2 X-66's, Yamaha Digital Grand, Yamaha Motif ES-8 and a Hardman & Peck Mini-Piano in restoration. Actually a drummer here in numerous bands but I play Organ at Church.

I had the incredible fortune of a B3 with Leslie in my home growing up....... a phenomenal keyboardist my dad played bass for for years had to get his B3/Leslie to a safe haven because he'd married a Medusa-type creature of terror that would have destroyed that organ. REALLY cool to see a dude his age so dedicated to this world of its own :) I had a Hammond player in my band for 6 years that...... let's just say at the end of his solos a couple times I had to leisurely get near enough to him while the song's rolling and say something like "don't EVER do that again, man...... ", he could see some tracks of tears below my sunglasses. Simply an expressive B-3 master that knew right where to aim and truly....... SOULful is an understatement. Our (Washington D.C.) own Tommy Lepson and Baltimore;s Greg Hatza are organ deities I've been lucky to catch many times through my years :) THis cat James is noted (so to speak :)

Haha, I remember the old organ videos. Geez, I am getting old :-)

That is great as I wished that more young people would learn how to play the organ. You must have a great collection of organsm as I remember seeing other videos demonstration you have done. You should do is try to own a home than pay for storage. I was also storing many of my organs in storage and that raised up my credit card debt. Good demo!

I looked up the Roland Newcastle Competition 2011 on your channel which I saw a long time ago. You were 10. Don't know how your feet reached the pedalboard! The reason a Hammond has two switches is because the main motor that spins the tone wheels is a synchronous motor like a clock that Hammond invented prior to the organ. The motor speed is controlled by the line frequency, 60 Hz in the Americas. Unfortunately synchronous motors have little torque and could spin in either direction, so they also had a starting motor with highest torque at 0 RPM to get the shaft spinning. When you hit the "Run" switch the synchronous motor started. In this way a Hammond is always A = 440.
@patricksaxon39836 жыл бұрын
In the mid 1960s, Hammond did away with the two power switches, and just used only one without having to hold down the toggle switch, found on the T-series (Combined tone wheel and electronic).

Is it expensive? As I say before, we dont see that kind of intruments here. I would like one. I have an old Electone C55 I guess from the early 80's

Have you played an actual pipe organ like in a concert hall or cathedral? I would rock your world.
@ThePianoforever6 жыл бұрын
Not yet.
@xtusvincit52306 жыл бұрын
Man, I cant wait to see the video. There is nothing like feeling the music rumbling through you from a pipe organ. Contact a major cathedral in your area and ask the organist to show you the instrument. There is nothing like their soaring sound which can express every mood like none other!
@xtusvincit52306 жыл бұрын
There is a reason churches can spend hundreds of thousands to millions on these instruments!

They did make one a few years ago, but I know the Roland Atlier is no longer made so they might have stopped production of this one too. The portage version was the Roland Atelier AT-350, and I have included a link below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3TZiGiep6ute7M

Say the list price and used prices of your instruments. I also play pedals with my socks on, more accurate than shoes. Huge organ, good tones. You do not explore the rhythm sections enough. Play popular songs. For the money, my favorite is still the Casio CDP 235R. $450 includes stand and bench. Many tones, 200 rhythms, large buttons to press. No midi, but has a computer port.
@patricksaxon39835 жыл бұрын
These instruments are no longer manufactured, because the home organ has become the thing of the past, as no one wants a home organ. Recently, kawai has decided to discontinue the Lowrey Virtural Orchestra instruments, soon to be discontinued. I do not know how long such classical digital organs will continue on? Because, the home organ industry is dead after 30 years.
