Why do you need GS24 for cutting when BN-20 can do both? GS24 needs BN-20 print? What about other print?
@Ricks2Cents3 жыл бұрын
I've gone back / forth trying to decide if this would be a wise purchase. I think it's definitely allot packed into a Small footprint, but the cost factor is right at the edge of Do you go big or go home.

Why would you cut on a separate machine?
@lunchmoneyog3 жыл бұрын
Its much faster cutting on say a GS-24 than on the BN-20. One reason would be to keep the printer printing and have the other machine cutting at the same time. Also great for if you're laminating your stickers which requires a cure time before doing so, once laminated you can just run it through the GS-24 quickly.

Hey Joe, why are you using a plotter/cutter when the BN-20 is a cutter and a printer? Thanks in advance!

To speed up production; the BN-20 has a stepper motor and cuts at a slower speed.

Nice video, I am printing on HP Latex 335, and when send the material for cutting, have a lot of problems with X-Y offset ?One more think my cutter Roland Cam1 servo GX 24 reads only 3 of 4 crop marks? Any idea and /or suggestion of how to manage offset? Changing offset parameters from the cutter menu does not help?

Hello, The BN-20 is one of the slower print/cut systems. By using the crop marks to print the image on the BN-20 and then having a faster machine cut the design, you can save a lot of time in your production process.
@keragraves13206 жыл бұрын
Are you able to print the crop marks and do an immediate print and cut. So click the box for crop marks, yet still use the print and cut setting immediately. We are having troubles with our printer staying consistent with its contour cut on 100s of labels. We want to be able to cut 100s of labels on the same sheet without having it go askew.

Im trying to decide but i dont get it why do this if the bn20 cuts also its not like you where being quicker?
@StahlsTV2 жыл бұрын
Hey Hector - while both of these cutters can cut the design, the BN20 is much slower. So for better production efficiency, you could be printing on the BN20 with one design, and cutting another out on the standard vinyl cutter.
@StahlsTV2 жыл бұрын
Another tip - some materials take time to gas out the ink after printing and before cutting. Adding crop marks allows you to remove the material from the machine to gas out and keep printing more jobs.

how do the t-shirts hold up compared to inkjet paper on the bn-20. Also the feel compared to dark inkjet transfer? thanks. I recently watched a video complaining the eco solvent ink washes out rather quickly. however the online demos suggests it lasts very long.

It has better quality than transfer paper. It will last the life of the garment and has a thinner, light-weight feel on the garment.

I don't get it.. I'm just new to studying this and why would anybody buy a printer/cutter.. only print on it.. and buy another cutter to cut?
@StahlsTV8 жыл бұрын
+Tommy Durant Hi Tommy- Some decorators prefer to have a separate cutter with their solvent printer or print and cut system for speed of production. The BN-20 model specifically has a slower print/cut head than the Roland Versacamm or other vinyl cutter that cut up to 50 cm/s. For this reason, some decorators may choose to keep their printer printing and switch over to the cutter for faster production in cutting.
@maxpower93404 жыл бұрын
@@StahlsTV No they do not. The speed is of no concern at all. It takes me around 60 Mins to print and cut 10000 decals on a BN22

One reason why I decided against a print and cut setup. I rather have my printer printing continuously than to use it for cutting while I have a backlog of print jobs waiting in line. I have a larger setup in the EJ-640 & GR-640 for this reason. And what if you need lamination? You would still have to remove the print, laminate...put in back into and cut again.
@sexymonkey49796 жыл бұрын
There is a better method this bs and a waste and only reason to remove would be to laminate or someone who wants to cut faster but in that case why buy a print and cut its best to just buy a latex printer

@maxpower93404 жыл бұрын
Actually, looking at this vid again its idiotic. Why would you need a cad cutter? when versaworks can do all of this. Just print and cut
@StahlsTV4 жыл бұрын
You could certainly complete all of this on the BN20 within Versaworks, however some like to cut on a separate machine and laminate in between for decals, floor graphics etc for extra outdoor durability. For apparel applications, there would be no reason to no print and cut on the same machine at once unless there is a dry time for the material being used before cutting.

@@StahlsTV does the bn20 not die cut all the way through? Can it kiss cut only?
@Mr_Chuckles3 жыл бұрын
Yes in the context of this video it seems silly to just use the print+cut for printing. But consider someone who buys the BN20 as a starter system, then gets popular. He will quickly realize that adding just a $1500 cutter would massively increase workflow and let the superb BN20 print only (which is the slower process)
