Hello Stephen and hi Gizzy ! Thanks for this useful tips and explanations. I was juste trying to insert IFX and TFX on a little 4-bar loop. And you're right, it's so important to know whhere is stored each kind of FX. Now i saw your video, I know that probably my last FX change were not all saved. But I know what to do next time. thanks a lot for this video.

So helpful! I do have a different question though that I can't find anywhere online. What's with the 'lock' and 'unlock' button? What happens when you unlock a souns for example and when would it be useful? Cheers
@StephenMendes3 жыл бұрын
The lock is just a "Category" lock .... that keeps sounds in the same "category" together .... for example, if it's "locked" and you use the wheel to change tones you will get all the "acoustic pianos" (if that category icon is shown) regardless of their actual "memory location" number (the wheel will cycle through all the sounds in that category) ..... if it's "unlocked" then the wheel should carry you through the memory locations sequentially (no matter what type of sound is stored at each location) ...... unlocking is useful if you have have created sounds in USER memory locations that do not fall into ANY of the categories (or perhaps you just did not specify a category for your new sound) .... I will deal with this when I make my video to show you how to make your own FRESH CUSTOM sounds from scratch ..... we are not limited to PRESETS we can create "never before heard" NEW SOUNDS ..... it's wonderful ...... subscribe and ring the bell so you wont miss a thing .... that is.... if you are not already "hooked" on my channel 👍

Hi Stephen. On my EFFECTS EDIT screen diagram I have the Reverb going to the SUB output for every track. How do I change this to send it to the MAIN output?
@stuarttodd4678 Жыл бұрын
Hi Is it possible to route the Microphone into the Sub-Output??
@StephenMendes Жыл бұрын
The microphone is sent to BOTH the Sub and the Main outputs continuously .... and this cannot be changed.

How do you get the Sympathetic Resonance IFX to respond to a CC damper pedal? That remains a mystery.
@StephenMendes3 жыл бұрын
I will check it out and get back to you

@@StephenMendes thank you so much! I’d really love to unravel the mystery. Why would they put that effect in there if you can’t use it properly with the damper pedal?

Hey I contacted Roland and they said they don’t have the screen saver file anymore. Well they couldn’t find anybody who works there that has it. Can you please put it in google drive and make the link available so I can download the file if you still have the file.
@StephenMendes Жыл бұрын
I suppose I could do that.... shortly

@@oO5Dynasty Here is the link to the SCREENSAVER...... there should be a screen saver directory on your FLASH CARD (in the FA directory ... which is inside the Roland directory).... put the file in there and let me know if it works..... MAKE SURE to set the "Screen Saver Time" in the GENERAL settings of the SYSTEM menu to a short interval... best wishes 1drv.ms/u/s!Apl0o7n_b-uZhkxGULino5s0_wfz

When making a sound from scratch do the settings on this screen get saved when I write the sound?
@StephenMendes2 жыл бұрын
NOT all of them ...... only the MFX and Chorus and Reverb levels ...... if you want to save EVERYTHING you see on Effects Edit screen then you have to save the System Settings and the Studio Set as well
