I am not blind. I am hugely sympathetic to this post. I support the blind Rachel Flowers via David Kalman’s go fund me page. It seeks to compensate for her blindness by providing funds to enable her with tech to compensate. Recently she changed over to Apple and found that her Nord keyboards would not work speech wise with her Mac. I am delighted to report that Nord responded very quickly and wrote connecting speech ware for her Nords. Some companies are very responsive to blind users. Top marks Nord. Roland you need to learn lessons.

Bought the Fantom G6, $3400, then Roland stops all support. Meanwhile other synth companies have support for their products of half the price of a Fantom, for twice as long. I've been a loyal Roland customer and fan since the 80's, and I still am a fan, but after neglecting to support their flagship workstation, and focusing all their attention to theremin effects modules, keytars, 808, 707 remakes, the Jdxa overlay situation, and other silliness. So I'm happy to see the new Roland products, but with the amount of time that's past, all the new companies, and new products, it may be too late for Roland to get me to come back. With that said, it does look pretty impressive....to see them finally catch up with the times.
@evankeal5 жыл бұрын
I second that sentiment with the Jupiter 80. Roland products are not supported much after the fact, at least in synth and drum musical products. However they typically last forever so support really only means offering product enhancements. But I would prefer if they didnt erase all acknowledgment of a product a few years later like a bad ex girlfriend. I am confused in this case because of the name. Did they reuse Fantom name like Jupiter as a new flagship that has little in common with Fantoms 1 thru 10 or whatever they are? Its interface has a slight similarity to the Jupiter 80. I guess in 8 years they will release their next flagship as the Juno-something.

YES...it seems so...the lack of a fully blown linear Sequencer is a giveaway...and NO SAMPLER...the New Fantom so far is a fail as a Workstation...doesnt even have any Audio tracks...it would be ok for Bedroom hacks...but how could they afford $6500.00 anyway...and another $2500.00 at least for outboard gear to have a completed Workstation...The X and G are by far better Workstations.
@okay19045 жыл бұрын
You spoke my mind - most of these hardware keyboard manufactures have become like Nokia, not able to discern that they need to reach a whole new higher level of sound quality and usability. No way would I go back to a workstation except for a few sounds, but most of these are much better done with Spectrasonics or IK Multimedia or AIR instruments and it is so much easier to add an unlimited number of high quality effects in a DAW.. For sonic quality these terrible sounding patches are dated... and sound dated.......and very weak...

Im a Roland Fantom user and tried it all from the first Fantom Fa 76, fantom X, fantom G, FA 06 and 08.. also an integra 7 user. All i can say about this new fantom, its great if you use it integrated with computer/VST.. Also the new controls makes it better.. but i still need to try it in person before deciding getting it which is i always do before buying a new synth.. in terms of sounds, theres really nothing new on sounds coz the sounds ive heard on this demo can be produced by any other synths/modules if you are only giving time on how to edit your ADSR( Advance delay sustain and release).. Lastly im still interested with this new synth. The outputs and new computer connections are great to have. The touch screen is not amZing coz we know this is old technology, even the korg trinity from the 90s has that touch screen already. Thanks Roland. i dont know if does it have a smooth transition? Hope it does coz you are too late.

Hey Roland guys! I am huge Roland but I am not getting it. I am dreaming about a hardware workstation fully integrated with DAW, but no such product on the market. Apart from synth engine which seems obsolete (PCM+VA instead of wavetable/resynthesis/etc), I am not getting the integration method. It is cool to record wavs and use fantom as controller for vsts. But: every modern producer starts to process sounds right away. So, having a possibility to have a back and forth transfer option could allow to apply modern production to Fantoms sound. But seems its impossible except this way fantom-to-pc, right? I am not getting the point of this stripped down version of ableton. Real ableton will be 100 miles ahead anyway. It is cool to record initial ideas on the fly somewhere on tour, but that’s it. Soundwise it sounds like SPACE music from 80th which I also adore but if you will listen to modern Billboard songs it is totally different. Just trying to understand who is target customer (except JMJarre of course)? Touring musicians who want to record ideas on the fly maybe. In 2000th Fantoms were widely used as real production tools in studios and I had a hope to have something applicable for this in 2019... Look, having a sound I start to produce it right away! Compression SC filtering saturation etc, apart from 3-7 automation lines. Is this possible to do such a product? With usb full integration like eElectron did with their saturation device. I would be the first customer and I am not alone. I am not getting this product, however the army of fantom users was huge back in the days and maybe still is. Would be great to have here some comments about benefits of having such a workstation in 2019. (PS Still love you, Roland, anyway 👍🤗)

ADAKADAK Bass bot - I’m with you on the sound side of things, but remember this is just another tool, you create what’s next. The new sounds on the billboards top 100s are created from these keyboards in combination with softwares, plugins, fxs, manipulation, tricks etc...Also with any new keyboards, you have to give it time before you can truly know what its capable of. I was thinking about the Yamaha montage, but not with that many feature + plus a Sequencer on board this bad boy.
