Nice work. I used to gig in a covers band with a GR55 so I know how brilliant and powerful the device is and how accurate you have to be to get these results. Sadly the band split and so I sold it as I no longer used it, but I still miss it. One of the best pieces of guitar gear ever and rarely demonstrated as fully as this.

it is indeed awesome and this fellow only scratches the surface of its amazing possibilities ... for example it can send midi out to generate CV to control external units ...like ...changing controls to things like laptops ..and actual voltages to simpler things ... thus the one note can change the lighting and command the backing track on the laptop to make a drum fill etc

It's February 2022 as I'm typing this comment. If this Pedal was a Movie .. It could be the Titanic.. its timeless. I have been looking for this pedal... It's hard to find it now. Those who have it are Dearly Holding onto it. ..I have one option which is the Fishman TripleMan Guitar Midi Pickup , which is a wonderful tool.. All I can say the GR55 is the timeless perfect pedal

Great piano at the start. Are the guitar effects good enough to make the unit usable stand-alone? I have a GT100 but would rather not have two units set up on stage. Having access to 'other' instrument sounds is appealing. Also - is it easy to send the guitar output to guitar amp and synth sounds to PA?

Thanks so much ! There is some latency on instruments PCM, but not on COSM - Modeling - guitars / bass guitars Recomend you to trying the GR-55 in the music store, so it meets your requirements

While struggling with this or the sy1000 I have purchased the gr-55 to go with a godin xtsa. I think I made the right choice for now. The sy1000 may be a nice compliment but certainly not first in the chain of command. I also may opt into the iridium. It's a play and see situation. Will the synth side be optimal or will I just wanna go straight synth on synth? Oh the dilemma... If anyone can help solve this riddle then feel free to add your 2 cents cuz 1 penny doubled daily is over 5 million which has to amount to something right? Even if it's 5 million opinions. Fire away! Let's get this 5 million plus going! What do you say?

Thanks for the demo. Very nice playing! Just some questions. Can GR-55 be used on mandolins or ukuleles? Is short scale length a problem? And if I could use GR-55 on a mandolin or a ukulele, would I be able to keep the tuning as they already are? Or the tuning has to be like it is on a guitar?

Make sure your GK 3 /GR-55 are set up properly, and play accurately. GR-55 Tips, Tricks & Techniqueskzbin.info/www/bejne/g4nNp4psdrJ8eqM The processor has a limit on how fast you can play, and important with steady pace and rhythm. It is challenging to play glitch-free PCM tones, and GR-55 must have completely pure notes. Use GK-3 with accurate setup and have always the guitar 100% tuned. The technique is important, and you must play guitar GR-55 piano in a slightly different way, and thinking piano keys on /off with pure tones . Fingerboard pressure and stroke must be precise and accurate, not affect/touch neighboring string. Not have the strings too low on the fingerboard. You can set up the GR-55 after your guitar playing GK Setting....PU type.....string bridge mm....alll 6 strings level sense adjustment measurement...... .. EDIT - GK SETTING - ENTER - PAGE ...Velocity dynamics 5 and Play feel 3 and Low velocity 5. This is settings for my playing style, and adjust to what is best for you. You get also a gradually feeling on what the Gr-55 processor can follow, but GR-55 likes best a steady pace/ liquid rhythm. I use Line out stereo GR-55 plugged directly into Behringer 1622FX mixer with church reverb. Guitars that have a RMC or Ghost pickup (Godin piezo pickup ), you can try mounts noise filter inside GR-55, a easy installation, but no ON/ OFF switch. It is RMC Opt 01 subsonic filter from Richardt McClish ( not necessary With the GK-3 pickup ) which shall fixes the ghost note issues on the GR-55. It helps reduce unwanted notes that you accidentally play. I have not tried this Opt 01, and wondering what happens with warranty from Roland. Another possibility is......but that this is not needed with GK3 ! Subsonic fillter is most noted effect on GR-55 when using Piezo 13-pin guitars. ( Godin Guitars ACS ) Contain specially designed filters to improve PCM/COSM tracking and ghost note immunity as well as lowering noise when palm muting. There is some latency that varies with the frequency, one must get used to it. Be exactly with the settings, and use a GK-3 on the guitar, that is best.

Hello, I have the GR-55. I also have a Godin XTSA. This guitar has it's own piezo 6 transducer pickup built in, but I still get occasional false triggering. I have dedicated a lot of time trying to get the triggering correct, with only some success. I found some information about a small device to be inserted into the GR GR55 made by RMC ,called the "RMC OPT-01 MKII subsonic filter module for Roland GR-55" which is supposed to cut down on false triggering. Are you using this? It used to be incorporated into the earlier Roland guitar synths, then the piece was left out of the GR55. It is $215. I don't know if it is worth it, so I ask if you use this in your GR? Thanks.
