Will installation overwrite the factory sounds?

You can install them into the non-factory banks S-Z if you prefer, so that no factory patches are lost at all. The pdf manual has the instructions to follow.

You mean, record changing patch parameters, you can - just press record, record your notes, then record the other parameter changes. When you play it back it will re-enact your changes.

These are new patches created using the full VA engine of the JD-Xi, using the stock PCM waves.

Never actually loaded patches onto a synth before, so let me get this right. These are not presets that you can choose but rather pre made songs that will save over the loops/songs that come stock on the JD-Xi? The ones in banks A thru D? Or E I can't remember.

Yes - the set contains preset songs (sequences) we created, and these songs all use their own 3 patches we created. There are 300 patches spread out over 100 songs (sequences). You can download the free Taster Pack to try it out from ultimatepatches.com. Cheers.
