This is my favorite JP-4 demo on KZbin. The bass from around 5:15 to 5:25 and again from 5:55 to the end is like if you took the Yamaha DX series bass and made it analog, making it deeper, more powerful, and more organic in the process.

On second listen with headphones, it doesn't sound anything like a DX. Blame my crappy laptop speakers. Still sounds deeper and more powerful.

Du ärgerst Dich viel zu sehr über die kleinen "Fehlerchen". Sie verleihen dem Track seinen Charme. Die Musik klingt insgesamt total gut. Ein schöner Querschnitt durch die JP4-Soundpalette. Kaum auszudenken, wie es wohl klingen wird, wenn Du erneut einen JP4 in die Hände bekommst und dann alle Möglichkeiten ausschöpfst...

i already have a trident and im thinking about buying a lambda. do you think its worth keeping both??

+DigitalStrings Ooops! I thought that I answered your question long time ago. Sorry for the long delay! The Lambda and the Trident have a completely different sounding string section. I like the Trident's strings a bit more than the Lambda's strings. I can make my Trident's synth section sound pretty much like the Lambda's Choir setting and with self-oscillation I come near to the Harmonics setting, but the Lambda has all the cool presets available with the simple push of a switch. And layering all these lovely sounds results in beautiful sound sculptures. But overall I didn't see the advantage of having a Trident and this fella so I sold the Lambda after a while. I know of another musician who loves both models to pieces and he keeps both of them. If you're lucky to find a good working and affordable Lambda, just try it out. With the current resale prices you won't lose money if you sell it on again.

Excuses, excuses, its just a demo for goodness sake. Not a bad one either, if you hadn't pointed out the issues I would have said it was a lost 70s backing.
