@@synthartist69 i have both a jupiter 8... and the X and the cloud.. and watching the output in a spctrum analysis.. there is nothing different. i mean they nailed it... dont subscribe to the analog shit.....dont forget the component in a 80s analog synth age...degraded and change de sonic quality.... the emulation are one of a brand new jupiter x factory out.... they use brand new component to emulate these... and so that is why people think they sound different cause no jupiter 8 is completly refurnished these day it will cost a fortune to do so... many component have to be re created... this is what roland did.. use original capacito... and tech spec of all the analogue component.. so the result sound different from what you hear in a genuine Jupiter X secondly... may i point out that on record a real jupiter x went trought analogue gear in the studio of the era... that mean analog pre amp... that cost a fortune today,,,...compressor...and reverb that are hardly around anymore... so dont ever compared a out of the box jupiter x to a record of a jupiter 8 and say.. it doesnt sound the same. I’ve watched lots of your vids mate. How is this in comparison to the Jupiter 80. How’s the “virtual sound” instruments (strings, pianos, horns etc) Having had an 80 for a few years now, listening to this (IMO) are sounds that I can get from my 80? Thanks. Oh, I was bust up pretty bad in a traffic accident in 2011... you will heal well. Just time👍🏻

First and foremost, I like the onboard control better than the JP80. I think the analog sounds are only slightly better than the JP80. AS far as the virtual sounds, if you have ever played the Roland XV series then that is the sounds you are going to have in that category and I mean a LOT OF THEM! I like the pianos etc from that era of Roland so it fits me well. Sorry to hear about your accident as well my friend..

So I assume from this demo and many others, this doesn't seem brickwalled to the point of zero dynamics, and shrill EQ like the ACB stuff? Really debating on grabbing one of these. Do you feel this is anything like the real Jupiter 8?

@@synthartist69 At least it sounds to me like a drastic improvement over ACB. I have to put a decent amount of upward expansion and eq on the ACB stuff to make it usable, honestly doesn't sound too bad then. But this Jupiter seems to be more, what I am after. Any chance you will ever do a comparison video of the two? Also thanks for the video in the first place, glad to see you back and the hands moving ok. :)

It does not come on the Jupiter X from the factory. All of these sounds are custom and for sale for the Jupiter X.

Hi ! '' Jump '' synth brass (trumpet ) is OK , just , as y say , a bit bright . '' Here i go again '' is , sorry , Uh ! OK , y have no Prophet VS . For this intro sound is a combo of some choir and saw strings . Bells are in American radio version , in this version is DX 7 Ep , but forget about this cos you couldn't ''hold'' harmony in a split with another instrument !

Yes...prophet vs was used on Here I Go again. Amazing sound! I have improved these patches since making this video. Also..Whitenake radio version vs extended album version are a little different as the radio version does not have the long intro. It sounds like a totally different patch on the verses and chorus. Keep your eye out for the new demo with many other custom and cover patches. Thank you!

Good job on the covers. I just got my Jupiter X this week. It seems such a waste to use it for copying the same old songs to death. I do wish I could hear other people's creativity by producing unique sounds and experimenting using equipment like this.

Thank you for the compliment Tim. Many people, including myself play in cover bands so we need these patches which are normally not part of the factory programs. As far as experimenting, I am not very good at holding down 1 note and turning knobs with a relentless arpeggiator going through a sequence of notes. Congrats on the Jupiter X, I look forward to hearing what you can do with it!

Jesus christ. Enough resonance on that jump patch? It doesn't even use resonance normally. I didn't even know resonance could sound that unbearable. I sat waiting for the earbleed to end until about your 15th repetition where I almost lost my mind and frantically grabbed my roku remote, yelling "JESUS FUCKING CHRIST" at the fact that you were still actually playing it, and shut you up to save my ears and sanity. Eddie van halen isn't even a synthesist and I'm sure he's still turning in his grave.
