The factory presets in the deepmind don’t do it Justice at all to what it’s truly capable of. It’s a beautiful sounding synth but the factory presets are drowned in fx that ruin its character. I love how much you can do with this synth from its mod matrix/top tier in depth fx section and poly detune ability. Gives me the same feeling as playing a Juno 106/60 but can emulate so many more classic synths. Jx3p, Jupiter 8, polysix, solina strings and so much more. Really is a very complex versatile synth with such beautiful sound character. Has a nearly perfect Juno 106/60 chorus built in as well when you tweak the parameters just right in the chorus settings.

How do you feel the sound of the S8 compared to the Jupiter X? Which one felt more closer to the originals and analogue to you? I feel the sound of the S8 sounds much more natural than the AMB tech in the Jupiter X. Not too big a fan of the generic Roland type filter they stuck in the X either instead of modeling the actual filters like ACB does.
@synthartist6923 күн бұрын
I would give the sound of the system 8 only a very slight edge over the X.

How did you created those 3 patches at the beginning? I am getting the Muse and the TEO-5. Was thinking about getting the OBX8, but after owning an OBXa, Yamaha CS60, Jupiter 6 and a sequential pro one. It seems that the Muse covers some of my past synth. The TEO-5 can cover the SEM territory. Sold all of them about 15yrs ago, don’t really missed them (maybe the nostalgia of those sounds) after waiting months to be fixed and paying for repairs, It was an easy decision for me. Plus the CS60 was heavy as well as the OBXa.

This thing sounds great.. Love the tone of the second patch at 2:16 min. How do you rate it to your P5/10? I have a p5 and will never get rid of it. But the oscillators sound punchier on the muse.. definitely won’t hurt to add this to the stack
@synthartist6927 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching! They sound different. It's not better than a p5/10 but a little more fun factor with front panel delay, arpeggiator, and sequencer.
@synthartist6927 күн бұрын
BTW, yes...the sound at 2:16 is amazing. It's very warm and tangy. I'm playing Survivor "High on you". The sound on the album recording is a little sharper than this.
@kujumz28 күн бұрын
so how would you say this compares to other modern analog poly reissues and new offerings? will this be a new “go-to” for some classic 80s bread and butter tones? That great riff sequence you always play at 3:33 - does the sound in the room compare to when you play it on the Jupiter 8?
@synthartist6928 күн бұрын
So, I can get these type of sounds out of my OBX8 and Prophet 10 but they all have a slightly different flavor. The user friendly arp, sequencer, and front panel delay are a big plus. And of course, the Muse looks pretty amazing.
@Belay_OfficialMusic27 күн бұрын
@@synthartist69 Sounds incredible...I had my heart set on the OB6, then the X8 came out and I was set on that (I love the OB sound). Then the 3rd wave with sampling and now the Muse! Has me rethinking everything. Can this get the X8 sound better than the OB6 can? I can only afford one...which would you get?
@synthartist6927 күн бұрын
Hello! Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, I have never played an OB6. The Muse sounds different than an X8 but one thing they both do well is that OB brass sound. It took me a while to dial in that OBXa Jump sound. Normally I can create that dual detuned saw wave patch within minutes. I'm still new to this synth so I'm in the dark on creating other patches I would like.

@@synthartist69yes how is it dialing in slight detuning between oscillators? I noticed there is no fine tune knob. seems like that might make it difficult. what do you think?
@synthartist697 күн бұрын
It has a detune knob. Ir's on the far lower right. Of course each osc has it's own tuning. You can also set the screen to show the digital numerical increments when tuning each osc.

I've owned a Jupiter X for about 8 months now. It's taken me this long to realize why its called X, because it's designed to be whatever Jupiter you want it to be, well that is if maybe Roland creates the Jupiter 6 if they can compete with the Mercury 6 VST. Intend to get this. Just gotta figure out how to import with the existing stuff I have saved.
