Roland Martin and Fox Sports 1's Jason Whitlock clashed over police brutality and what will ultimately end the killing of unarmed African Americans.
Whitlock told Martin, "the government is already motivated to prevent police violence and police misconduct because it is a money loser and we are in a capitalistic society.
Whitlock believes the real issue is mass incarceration and the overcriminalization of poor people.

It’s the culture within police organizations that doesn’t allow cops to rat on each other that is their problem. Minimal accountability is terrible for any person, job, industry… But that isn’t THE problem with the black community, not even close. The crimes that the police commit to blacks are soooo insignificant compared to the crimes from fellow blacks, it’s just wayyy more sensationalized. It’s a scapegoat in the criminal-celebrated modern American urban culture.

So what did Jason actually say that was out of pocket? What I heard was factual and sensible. He's talking about allocation of resources, degree of problem and self-determination among other things. He's right when he says that we're never going to have a flawless police system. He's right when he says the level of guns on the streets adds another layer He's also right when he says that B on B crime is a much bigger issue. If Police never killed another Black Man, even those who were resisting arrest, high on PCP, getting tasered and still won't comply etc. would that make Chicago any safer for a 9 year old? How about Baltimore? Are people going to feel any safer in the 5th Ward in Houston? How about the 9th Ward in New Orleans? Would no police malfeasance anywhere at anytime substantially change the day to day danger for people living in these communities and communities like these? He's saying Black People's resources are better served trying to tackle the broader issue. If you have colon cancer and a pulled hamstring and they the doctor says I can fix either one but not both. Just give me $1000 and you're good. Which one are you going to get treated? The Black Community has Colon Cancer and the "Woke" crowd is trying to fix the pulled hammy. It's lunacy. And by the way, Roland mentions Jon Burge in Chicago. He paints it as racist when the fact is they were torturing White Suspects in Chicago as well. Frank Cullotta, the retired Mob Hitman, chronicles some of that in his book and interviews. They used to use cattle prods and other things on suspected mobsters and others. It seems as though being a habitual criminal was more a determining factor than race. Doesn't make it right. It was some real War On Terror, Enhanced Interrogation Technique type of stuff. And yes, nobody's co-signing the cops lying on the stand. I didn't hear Jason co-sign that. What I heard him say was let's attack the bigger problem and try to work with the cops because the people who are most vulnerable need better access to police protection. And this notion that the cops are just itching to kill BP is ludicrous. There's a playground in my neighborhood where BP are hanging out, playing loud music, smoking weed, drinking beer, cussing, talking smack, and so on and the cops don't bother them at all. Why? Because nobody is acting a fool. No guns, no fights, nobody's hustling on the corner, tripping on PCP, none of that. It's all love. It's amazing how peaceful things can be when nobody's doing anything stupid or criminal. The cops don't even sweat them for the weed or the beer. So how about a just don't act a fool campaign? But that can't happen in most non-upscale Black Neighborhoods. Why? Because there's always 2 or 3 fools that mess things up for everybody. It's the reason you have to have metal detectors at the Black Clubs. And you still have shootings!! Guys hate Ramen Noodles and they know that's what they are going to have to eat in prison and they shoot a dude over something stupid anyway. But the cops are the problem to hear Roland tell it. How about BP having standards and some personal accountability to either A. Not do crime or B. If you are going to do crime don't be a fool about it and resist arrest. The "Woke" crowd is saying essentially that BP don't have the ability to not act a fool so they need to be given special consideration. That type of thinking is related to Affirmative Action, Quotas, and similar. It's racist and condescending. Yet Jason Whitlock is brainwashed and hates his own people? Maybe the truth is he loves people and holds them to a high standard. This is mind-blowing how low of self-esteem so many us BP have. That if someone even hints at standards and decorum they are an Uncle Tom, because "We Black! We don't do that!". We need to do better.

@leesmithreviews7179
@leesmithreviews7179 3 жыл бұрын
@@mrsain19 Well since Google has a plagiarism tool you can access to verify, I'm happy to report that I did take the time to write all that "nonsense". And unlike Roland and his crew, I actually respect your right to disagree with my assertions. How ironic. I will say I'm curious to know if you find anything that I stated as a fact to be untrue. We can always disagree on opinions. And by the way, jobs are cool sometimes - I agree. I've had them before. I may have one again at some point lol. But everything I said that relates to my experience is 100% accurate. And to develop the point even further about who gets called a "sellout' consider this: What about the rappers and singers who would shop demos to record labels only to be told they were looking for grimy thug type cats. So do you have anything like that you can offer? These dudes went back to the lab and created rhymes and personas and a month later (no exaggeration) in many cases that helped perpetuate the pervasive negative stereotypes the prevail to this day. But Jason Whitlock is the Sellout? And by the way, you can Google Plagiarize or whatever it's called this response as well. These entertainers presented themselves as a Rogues Gallery of bad guys that glamorized the worst aspects of low income Black Urban living - can we agree on that? And it wasn't just guys. I know an R&B chick that was a middle class "good girl" like an Ashanti type. Well, her label told her she speaks too properly. Can she "hood" it up a little bit so she's more relatable to her fans. She wouldn't do it and it created friction. Eventually, they dropped her. As opposed to some other chicks that did "hood" it up to promote an image. Fast forward to today. It's full-fledged Thot Culture. But since they run with the "Woke" narratives, they get passes. But how many of the "Woke" crowd take these fraudster rappers to task (I know they all aren't like that). No, if anything BP wanted the Thug Stuff. Big Daddy Kane was destroying stages on some smooth ladies man stuff and it was Black Males who said he wasn't "hard" enough. They almost did that to LL Cool J, but he came out with a couple of bangers and got a pass. My point is a lot of our problems are self-inflicted. Can we agree there? But that also means that they can be corrected. So what's wrong with Jason Whitlock making that assertion?

My brothers & sisters, stop buying into the idea that you are victim & that someone is out to get you & you will see miracles happen in your life. Life is a self fulfilling prophecy, if we think we can’t, we can’t. If we think we can, we can. Either way we are always right. So if you think you are a victim you will look for evidence that proves you right. if you don’t think you are a victim, you will find evidence that proves you are not, either way, you are always right.

He only said that he was just a sports writer because he understands that he doesn't have all the details to keep the conversation going. He knows he's limited in this area so he can't claim to be an expert, but he was correct in his assessment based on relatively basic research.

When somebody interrupts that much, particularly when someone is about to make a point that cannot be defended, the interrupter is doing the interrupting because he knows he can’t when on the merits. It is a tactic used by the Candice Owens’s and Jason Whitlocks of the world. I see them doing it all the time. That’s why these debates need to always be moderated in order to stop that from happening so that complete thoughts can be made. Notice how Whitlock totally blocked Martin from talking towards the end of the conversation in order to run out the clock. Notice how during that time, he wasn’t saying a damned thing.

Thank you, Jason. Even if most blacks that worship Roland Martin and his type in 2018 as if it is the 1940's, don't understand what you are spending your millionaire time trying to do for them. Even if they don't appreciate it, and they won't, even if they curse you and they will, THANK YOU FOR TRYING. What can be wrong with Roland and his type at least spending a lot more time in Chicago working on the horrible killings and poverty in those dreadful inner cities where even a baby is not safe. They don't have real solutions, thats why. All they know how to do is point fingers. And it just doesnt pay to point fingers at the black people involved in their own demise. So they let them continue to kill one another and point at some cop case that involves a thimble full of abuse by comparison. WHY HAVENT THESE SMART MEN LIKE ROLAND BEEN ABLE TO EVEN IMPROVE THE BLACK HOOD AFTER ALL THESE YEARS? Because they are cowards or just stupid. I am a black female and I approve this message.

I wonder how u would feel if someone recorded a person u cherish murdered with little to no reason y and lie about it deliberately
