Fantastic. Just shows its OFTEN the skill of the USER. Not the equipment. Give this to someone else. And it would end up in the exchange shop in a few weeks. While guys like you can make these killer grooves. Nice work. The Sexual healing type groove and Radio Gaga and West end girls were OUTSTANDING. You should have been a programmer for Roland. Sales would have gone NUCLEAR for these groove boxes.

I bought one of these new. Still remember walking around the city with the box under my arm, thinking I was about to get rolled. Later I would collect a whole studio full of 2nd hand analog synths and drum machines, but would always find a use for the old mc303,

@tiergrinder6 жыл бұрын
Yep, I know what you mean :D The resonance on the MC-303's filter is pretty weak. I think Roland could have left the 303 reference from the groove box and just call it a groove box :D

Hi. Do You think it's possible to make a 30min set with nice ,not rave music just to have good time before real band finishes preparing? I have this one but still fighting with programming patterns. Factory ones are painfull...
@tiergrinder6 жыл бұрын
Hi there and sorry for the late reply. I'm sure that you can do a 30 min live set with MC-303 alone. I remember back in the 90's when guys did whole gig just with one MC-303 and one keyboard. The MC-303's downside on the live performance is the CPU power. If you have complex and fast 16th note arpeggios running on many channels and comples drum patterns the 303 will slow down.. It doesnät freeze or crash, the tempo stays up but it starts to drop notes and tempo swings a little bit. Then again, I think its charmy and part of the gimmics of the the retro vintage gear :D
@funkykoval20996 жыл бұрын
@@tiergrinder Thanks! Back to work for me, despite pain in ears after those dull rave patterns...I also have soundcanvas midi module. Will try to sync them. Ultimate goal is to be able to play 40min set on pt1210 replayer for amiga and mc303 and there will be no royalties to pay!. all best

@@tiergrinder but that's what multi track are for lol to save all the work lol I'd love to record a set and only have to press two or three buttons lol and get payed for it lol.
@andydoss6 жыл бұрын
How are you saving your patterns?
@tiergrinder6 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew! I gave up using the MC-303's internal sequencer years ago. I record my patterns part by part from DAW to MC-303. I've noticed that I get the tightest note data when recording 60 BPM. For example if I have a 4 bar long bass line, I set my DAW tempo to 60 BPM, then set the MC-303's internal clock to 60 BPM and arm the real time record. When I hit play on the DAW the MC-303 starts to record live and DAW plays the melodies in.
