My 303 is my favorite instrument. I own maschine (multiple) and komplete, and 9/10 unless I'm sampling, I prefer to just mess around on the 303, and I consistently get good stuff out of it. You can mix your patterns, apply effects, and the arp is dope af. People that complain haven't read the manual.

Poop Missle I had one pretty much 20 years ago and got rid of it probably 15 years ago. I listened to some tracks I wrote back then and legit just bought another one. Going to grab an 808 too because they are cheap AF now! I need to stop selling gear as I always eventually regret it!

I just nabbed one for $230. Feels like a steal. I was thinking of getting a Behringer 909 clone, but I noticed this thing is an 8-track realtime sequencer, has 606, 808, and 909 sounds, plus EDM synth sounds. I'm going to RTFM for sure.

@@GeyloFollen completely feel you there. early this year i started using ableton to sequence synths after having only used hardware sequencers. finding its easier for me to program in my electribe 2 and basically record it back out to ableton as is, send to other stuff. i definitely prefer working within some confines!

Good 303 video, showing how the MC-x0x grooveboxes can be used in a very musical way, like instruments, to perform music like a DJ weaving together bits of pre-recorded music and transitioning between them, building up, breaks, etc. I would suggest using some more reverb, some of the synths would sound glorious w just a touch more of that.

Today, i listened through your set twice. Its great! I used to have a 505, but sold it (i kick myself in the butt all the time for this). I am thinking about getting the 303, because it has the sounds i want, minus having to have the card reader. The cards are going for a hundred bucks + now, for a 5mb. It really seems to me, that I can do what I want with the 303. Honest question for you, how does it perform as a basic master clock\ sequnecer? I am wondering how it perform with my td-3 and rd-6. Back in the day, my 505 would either do great, or not, as a master clock. Hit or miss. But, i still loved it. These machines captured a moment of history for us.
@GeyloFollen3 жыл бұрын
Did the same. The extra waves from the 505 didn't interest me too much but the filters from the 505 were way bettter than the filters from the 303. Anyway, I kept the 303 because of the lush tones it has. No LCD means less complications, easy to get were I want with the 303 than with the 505. I love the 303, the only thing to worry about when performing with one 303 is the sequencer memory. I can only fill the 50% of the patterns with simple arrangements until the "memory full" message appears. Apart from that it has a lovely sound and very simple to use.

I hate the mc 303 nothing but frustration for me but you really got it down. After seeing this, I'm almost ready to go get another one but I already have too much gear. What don't I know? How do you take this from the mc303 and give it a studio sound? everything is there? You got it all. Do you just record it in a board and give it a studio mix? A few vocal hooks? VST? how do you take it to the next step? As a super producer and yet still keep it simple as a dedicated to the 303.

im afraid its not posible to load user waves in the 303 series. Its a human vocal wave pitched down with some use of the envelopes to make it sound "reversed". Try bank number 18 "Hit" there are some human voices there. I cant remember exactly which one was but it has to be over there.
