Would you be better off using a DI box to input guitar at line level??? I know that relying on gain to overcome impedence mismatch would be a bad quality signal...

so i plugged in my guitar into EXT in (mono L) and set auido insert to EXT IN L from track settings (came out on latest 1.3 update) in order to hear my guitar however when i press record (on an empty clip and record button lights on) nothing gets recorded. i also left the track settings the way they are set when you just add the looper track but still no good results. Any idea what i might be doing wrong please? the only way i found to have my audio recorded is by pressing SHIFT + REC, edit amd save wave file and import it into track which is a pain in the ass work around but still not practical enough. Thanks in advance for any help ✌️
@defmodnetwork4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Did you make sure your track is set as a looper track? You may also want to check your input level by pressing input and then adjusting the encoder. Although I have yet to try recording a guitar with the new firmware update. But based on this video, I have had no issues recording guitar. I’ll let you know if this happens to me as will with version 1.3
@defmodnetwork4 жыл бұрын
I tried this and worked for me. You just need to make sure you don’t have any Audio inserts. Just leave it off. The looper takes in input from ext L by default so no need to set it.

@@defmodnetwork i am doing so but the sound quality is really goes low. kinda like a phaser/ vibrating. i'll try to send you a video so it'll be easier to understand

oh i also saw on another video of yours you have an arturia keystep.. something i also need some explanation on how to get it connected lol your help would be gold to me right now
@defmodnetwork4 жыл бұрын
Richard Galea as for the low volume. I’m sure you already turned the input knob to max. You can check the effects setting and make sure no phaser is selected. As for the keystep, I connect it via standard midi. Midi out from keystep, midi in on the 707. Good thing about the new update is that it has auto midi channel selection so no need to change channels on the keystep whenever you create a new track. It automatically changes.

How can you do it to record from the first beat. Can you program a measure of "countdown" before recording so you can get your hands out of the MC707 record button and have time to reach your guitar.. or can you do that by a pedal program??
@defmodnetwork5 жыл бұрын
TheA CAN at first I thought I could not do that. But you can wait for the first beat in the bar when it cycles.

@@defmodnetwork thats important......´cause Akai Force can´t do that. And can you do it to stop alone? Anyway... I don´t know if I have understand it at all. In manual shows you the clip has already a lengh when you start recording. So, for example, you launch the record mode, wait the firts cycle but you miss to enter the first note on the ONE... but u still play your instrument till the end of the clip.....can u after that second cycle record on the third cycle that first note on the one that you missed??? I mean....all that third, fourth and so one....are overdubing cycles tiil you press the stop record button?? or at the en of the second cycle the clip will stop recording??

Passive pickups from the Ricky backer 330. The built in pre amp on the MC7-7 has enough gain for this.

This is great, thanks for putting this out. I've had a 707 for about 18 months and haven't touched it. I'm looking at KZbin vids about it again now to see how it works to see if I'll give it a second chance. The problem with all the other demos is they are done by synth/programer people. Im a bassist and guitarist, I don't think like a synth guy, so it's great to see how to put a pattern together from a guitar players perspective. I still haven't properly got my head around scenes etc but a clearer idea is forming.
