So how did you use the Spark on this track ? I see nothing Spark related.

the mixing... especially the vocals, make me feel some kind of way. Everything from the melody to the lyrics, reminds me of the joy it is to just sit down and listen to music created by humans for humans

Super sick song really makes it. Release this stuff somewhere! Love the intentionally teeny tiny boxy guitar. works wonders for the vibe. I should pull out my fostex and do some tape recording cause now I got the itch!!
@defmodnetworkАй бұрын
Thank you ao much! Means a lot! Yes, I think the limitations that this Tascam provides is what makes one really creative and defintitive in terms of choices. Woudl love to hear your Fostex tracks!

It depends on the kind of music you make. I happen to have electronic equipment. But if you’re doing punk rock or folk, it’s much much less compared to all the expenses having a computer, inerface, plug ins etc.

Nice. I didn't know there were 8 track cassette recorders. I borrowed a 4 track once from a friend though.
@defmodnetworkАй бұрын
Thanks! Yes, the 488s are considered the holy grail of these cassette portastudios. It’s a remarkable piece of technology for that time - 8 tracks in a cassette and it sounds great!

Yeah the GM is so hands on, its all just laid out right to manipulate. love mine :). how are you syncing these machines?
@defmodnetwork2 ай бұрын
Yes love it too! I just use the TR-8s as a master (midi) to trigger the GM and send clock info.
@DisciplinedCommotion2 ай бұрын
@@defmodnetwork can the TR 8 just send clock over midi without note information?
@defmodnetwork2 ай бұрын
@@DisciplinedCommotion yes it can. Actually that’s the default.

to me it sounds like it has a bit of tape warble artefact compared to the original sound. I use a Tascam 2488 MKII though this is a hard disk.
@defmodnetwork2 ай бұрын
Tape is so unpredictable but I guess that’s the charm of using it. Plus the limitations will really make hard but super creative decisions.

what if you make a seq on your ext synth, you love this sequence, all you want to do is record it into a clip for the 707 and then be able to use cutoff etc, why is this so fucking hard

Hi there ! Thanks for sharing, my TR08 as a Master is sending rate but (unfortunately) also pitch to my GM, do you know how to fix it ? Thanks !!
@defmodnetwork7 ай бұрын
You need to set the MIDI channel of the TR-8 to "off". To do this hold down the pattern select button and power the TR-8 on, then rotate the tempo knob anticlockwise until you see "off" on the display. Finally press the start/stop button to save your settings and the TR-8 will boot up as usual

Hi, sounds great. Wondering if you could help me. I have a Grandmother and Behringer Odyssey, what I want to do is run a sequence on the GM and run the arp' on the Odyssey but have the tempo synced, is there a way of linking them together without using any other gear. Tried Midi but the Odyssey plays the same notes as the GM. Thanks Tim.
@defmodnetwork10 ай бұрын
Hi Tim, thanks! I don’t think that’s possible, at least for my ARP which is the Korg version without an arpeggiator. You would need an external device with a native clock.

Nice work. I enjoyed it. I picked up a MC-707 a few months ago so I'm a noob on it. One thing that needs to be said is it takes quite some time practice and skill to move around the hardware. So point being it's not as easy as it looks. So my compliments to the artist above.
