how can we assign knobs (and faders) to control any parameters in Mainstage/Ableton/VSTs (like you did in minute 8:39) ? do you have any video tutorial to explain the steps?

For exemple. For the Stand Grand, can you please tell me the parameters to adjust for that it sound so good as in the video? Because is great! But I have difficulties to adjust the equlizer EQ. So, please, only for this sound (because I don't want to disturb you), can you tell me EXACTLY the numeric value of the 8 parameters of equalization? Please.

I could see that the Roland RD2000 knob is alike Yamaha Montage and Genos with Led indicators around the knobs.
@therealborischang7 жыл бұрын
Standard for programmable/recallable controls. You see them on MIDI controllers, digital mixers that support moving fader automation, and some digital synths. These are not true potentiometers/rheostats-instead they are digital signal controllers with no beginning or end point. You pay attention to the little LEDs to know where you are.

Boris Chang you talked to much for information already on the Website ok. I just indicate new knob design that arrived from other brands ok. I didnt say or argue such anything about program or freaken midi control. I dunt know what is wrong to your head. This is expensive Keyboard as first come out of Roland RD700 and 1000, so of coz I do know it’s damn good live gig piano.

Nice Jack, but the question still remains: This or the montage 8? I mean considering I wouldn't need external control, which would be a better piano? who has better action? who has better piano/rhodes/EP sounds? what is better, Roland's modeling or YAMAHAs multi sampling?

Looks amazing and I really love Jack (Is he an Aussie? I always thought he is) anyway what's the action on this keys? is this real Wood? and what's the difference between V-piano and supernatural? since they are both samples? I am stumped, and at one point he said you have PCM samples as well so what's the differntiation between 3 sampling techniques? Thanks for answering , This Piano is really GREAT

main downside is that it's much harder to find in stores outside of big cities, while major chains like Guitar Center carry the Roland, and is $300 more when found online. I personally prefer the Roland's V-Piano sounds but VST are really good these days too.

@MsrAlaindeFerrier5 жыл бұрын
@@paulallenMacca hi John, I sold it actually. It had initially pleased me to play but I only liked one of the piano samples in the SN. The others were just too artificial. Anyway, I haven't missed it honestly at all. In fact I have completely given up with digital pianos. All I have owned bar 1 Roland hp506 have been disappointingly artificial, the hp506 was the absolute most real sounding but lacked the very deep bass of the steinway it was supposed to be sampled from. Conclusion, if you want a real sound of a piano, buy a real piano. All the best Alan

A true beast of a piano. Ticks pretty much every box and goes well beyond the main features you'd expect from a stage piano. I just wish it looked nicer. That interface is not attractive (to me). The Yamaha CP/YC-88, Korg SV-2 and of course any Nord all look so much nicer. The only snag in an otherwise almost-perfect machine.

Roland 2000 by far the winner, I am a Yamaha man myself but I am so upset they didn't add the Drawbars to the CP 88..not to mention the roland has them as well as 1100 instruments!!! and the key action is prob the best you will find on any stage piano of any price range

Maybe they used a $10 microphone with the recording gain turned up way too hot to record the demo, and EQ’ed the playback poorly, but to me, it sounded awfully artificial-especially above middle C. Not to mention that most of the non-keyboard voices sounded like crap.

Gotta say that after using the new Roland RD2000 at my gig last weekend and for it being their top flagship model, I'm sorry (but for me personally) it was utterly Rubbish, i won't ever buy Roland keyboards again, same old sounds, nothing stood out at all... they are well built those that, just really really weak sounding patches, no guts or bite onstage... come on Roland! they are so far behind the other manufacturers (sound creation wise) hopefully they'll improve and fast🙄 not everyone wants to use VST's and Mainstage... they were my favourite brand at one point and at one stage they were ahead of their time, a benchmark in everything "80's" - classic patches etc... I'm still using my Roland Fantom X8 onstage which is fine... it's never let me down, but shocking for their new stuff, so dissapointed..... however.... I can't fault their customer service and when I get stuck, I always get help fast👍🏻

Every time I hear a demo of the RD 2000, I feel it doesn’t sound like a fine acoustic piano. I can’t chalk it up to poor microphone/recording technique by the entity doing the demo all the time. I hear A-B comparisons where the Yamaha CP300, the Kurzweil SP6, the Kawaii, the Korg, even Casios sound more real to me. Roland may have ruled the synth markets with the Jupiter and Juno series, but they don’t light my fire with their piano sounds.
