The practical application of Alpha Kappa Alpha is we have contributed and continue to contribute to the very fabric of America. We have always been involved in education. We have founded schools all over the world. We serve the community because we fully understand that as we fight in the areas of creating policy, we also need to help ease the lives of everyday people through mobile health facilities, learning centers, and scholarships. When you make the statement that they don't go into the black community is a false statement. We are more than just focusing on upward mobility. That is only one component of our organization.

The problem here is that individuals do not understand who we are and what we stand for and what we do. Yet, statements are made based on what they think and assume. Taking time to understand what we do around you and to understand our contribution to our communities would give you a grounding in making a correct statement. At the end of the day, these organizations value education to help individuals improve their lives. So, if having an education to help improve other people's lives is so far removed from "black people", then I don't know what your definition of being black. My definition is being a hard worker in maintaining excellence.

I'm a Black man in tech who benefitted from none of what Roland listed. Citing a tax evading billionaire's philanthropic deeds has done nothing for me. I look at black fraternities and sororities as relics from the 20th century that failed to adapt to todays "digital" world. Which I might add highlights Roland's clumsy command of tech by actually labeling his show "digital" as if we still use analog cameras and audio in TV studios.
