Brilliant Demo: I really appreciate how you listed what's on every card as I needed to know what was on the 'Complete Orchestra' collection: happy to see it has the JV-80 Orchestral 1 & 2 as well as much more. I'll be buying the Integra 7 mainly because it has the entire SRX series installed. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, the SRX cards do not have every single patch from the SRJV-80 cards. For example, there are some Celtic flutes from Orchestral 2 that aren’t included. It’s one reason why I’m still keeping my JV-1080 alongside the Integra-7. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an incredible value to have all the SRX cards at your disposal.

Thanks for this wonderful overview of the SRX sounds! You have a small mistake in the description for chapters. SRX-05 is at 06:07, not 06:67 which doesn't make sense. You may want to edit that ;)

I bought an Integra-7 used for £700/$900, it’s got the full collection on so is great value

If you buy an integra 7 sound module, you will own all 12 SRX cards.

@@MeneTekelUpharsin LOL , cards can't sound warm , it' just pcm data On the old cards the data is stored on rom chips , in the integra all the waveforms from the srx cards are stored on an internal sandisk . The srx exapansions on the Integra sound perfectly fine

​​@@MeneTekelUpharsinthey're the exact same samples. some people claim the old units have warmer DA converters and make a big deal out of it, going way out of their way to express that their old jv-1080 is superior to integra 7. these people have never heard of EQ. Integra has effects in it that you can adjust the tone and make it sound as warm or cold as you want.

​​@@MeneTekelUpharsinalso, integra 7 has better filters than all previous similar units other than JD-990 so it will sound better for many synth patches than a JV. unless you specifically like the colder filter of the older units

I have 8 cards.For example, card number 5 was created for Roland ms909, which I also have. Why did you only skate 9? a total of 12 were released

I think the Demo CD only features 9 boards, which number 10 to 12 haven't been made yet at that time when this demo was released.

What did you play these from? They sound much thicker than the Roland Cloud versions.

The Roland cloud versions are heavily processed unlike these original expansion boards.

If I want to load these sounds to a ROLAND FANTOM X6 via Roland CLOUD what would be the procedure? Would be a better option to get the SRX boards and install in the Fantom X6??? Any advice or ideas?? Thanks in advance...

Install the physical boards is the only option. The SRX Sounds on the Roland Cloud are different in the way they function because they are software based, and they are not related to any expandable synths, either Fantom or XV series.

Depend on what genre of music you are. If you are a pop or all around musician, then Studio SRX ( number 03 ) would be the obvious choice.

@@MichaelSouhoka it is one of my personal favourites but the one that is the most expensive on the second hand market is the Ultimate Keys one; lots of people want these vintage keyboards

Because that expansion combines everything previously released on the SR-JV80-04 Vintage Synth and SR-JV80-08 Keyboards of the 60s and 70s, that's why it is the expensive one because it's everything analog heaven! But Roland Cloud version has it too called SRX Keyboards.

They are discontinued, but you can get vst of the sounds from Roland Cloud. They have SRX vsts

Or search for Roland INTEGRA-7 module. All those sounds from the SRX boards are included in there, including the latest board 10 to 12, which has not been featured in this demo.

Since they are discontinued, unless you really mostly need a few cards to play with one of the older jv synths that have a better Low end, you are better off just buy an Integra. You can buy incredible much gear for the total price of a complete collection of hose cards on eg. e-bay. the Integra will cost you about 1/3 and have a good selection of the newer and much better "super natural" sounds. just have to remember you can't have all 12 SRX cards loaded at once in the Integra. I guess the module would apparently had been much more expensive if you could accass all its sounds at once
