What are your favorite techniques for getting realistic acoustic drum sounds out of a drum machine? Are there any limitations you've found with this approach?

this is why I bought the TR-6S, but I was assuming it would have a song mode, but it doesn't, so I have to sit and change the variations by hand and record it instead of just being able to just play along

@@totalSLACK yeah, it's a bit small to wish song mode in a future update even. MC-707 probably comes closest to what you might be looking for.

@@nedogled my DR-202 has a lot of the exact same functionality, including the screen, so I figured it would at least have the same song mode as a groove box from the 90s... shame it doesn't. I don't think Roland products are what I'm looking for anymore. I'm looking at a Deluge for this at this point.
