On a drum kit track you can load a wave sample on each pad. It is useful as this could save you melodic (tone) track for other samples which you might want to play chromatically.

I've been using it for a while. When you increase measures, they double each time, so there's no six measure sequence. Only 1, 2, 4, and 8. There is a lot to know, and I agree that the owner's manual isn't great. The Roland academy free course is very good. SECTION mode is really only for setting the length of your section. You need not be in that mode to copy Sections. An alternate way to do that in SEQ mode is to hit SECTION SELECT on the left. Then you can do the same thing you did, or you can hit copy and choose the Copy: Section All. When you click the value button you can choose the source Section and the destination section. Section Select is also good for tweaking parts. It gives you a means outside of the (master) Mixer to manipulate your track. If you have a track selected, go into Section Select. Then hit Edit + the pad of the Section you're in. There you'll find Clip Settings, which is VERY useful. If you scroll to the right, you'll also find Multi FX. You can set one effect per track per Section. There are a lot of effects in there, too! A drum kit on Auto Pan is so cool. There is a lot of nuance and depth to thus thing. Another interesting lesson I learned was about reverb. I noticed I could turn up the reverb on particular drums, but it didn't seem like it was adding anything. I learned I had to give the kit reverb first, and then I could change individual drum's reverb. That is accomplished pretty much the same as Clip Settings and Multi FX. Select the kit track. Hit Section Select. Hit Edit + the pad of the section. Go into Clip Settings. Scroll to the right to Rev Send. Add some reverb to the kit. Now you can back out and set individual reverb settings for each drum if you want. I try to create on it every week so I can keep expanding my knowledge. I'm still pretty weak on samples, and I haven't played with the vocals at all yet. This thing is super powerful.

press edit and a measure arrow to change step length, 16 to 128. 96 gives you 6 measures. but you can have any length for your sequence for odd time and stuff too.

Thanks!! But how to load entire drum kit (for ex 707) on a drum kit channel? It offers only manual load individual samples..

What I have discovered is that the Kick drum is the most significant change when loading a different pre-installed drum kit. Depending on which kit you load up, pad 16 might change significantly as well. To do the change make sure your workflow is on SEQ then on Drum Tracks select the KIT Track, Press down on the value knob then scroll to project, press down value knob again scroll through projects that are available, select the project you like under the list by pressing the value knob again twice to complete select project. What this does is populate your KIT track with your files, for example on seeing some significant difference in changes load the project Havana. If you go the route of loading this project through the load function it’ll load a demo project that you can hit play and listen to, if you don’t want to do all of that make sure you follow the steps I wrote out.

Oh yeah and whatever pad you have selected at the time of loading it, will determine which sound lands on that pad

I Make Beats... what it do my brother. Let me kick this comment off like a field goal by saying that your videos are always professionally made that engage, inform, and present gold nuggets... key for getting right to the business on reviewed gear that you cover. This unit got my attention from jump when it first came out, but like often... I pumped the brakes to grab it and add it to the studio. Reasons were my initial preconceptions about the limited number of tracks available and questions about its sampling capability. But after watching your walk-through beat-making vid here and having a great conversation about it over the phone, I knew I had to give it a go... especially with the incredible low price of $499.99 that was currently offered at Sweetwater. After receiving my MV-1 via your affiliate link and grabbing your PDF, I was off and running with no drama on how to get around the unit. And what I can say today without any equivocations, is that it is exactly what I was looking for. What I discovered was that I could have multiple Kit tracks that eliminated my earlier concerns about the 8 track limit. And after doing a few dry runs with the live sampling and working with chops I created on the MV-1, I knew it would allow me to do what I needed in this area of my productions. Overall... this unit is full-featured with an incredible 3000 sound palette to pull from for inspiration and production, while also offering several ways to bring external samples, sounds, and vocals into the mix. And once all your sounds are available, you have a vast selection of tools to humanize, sculpt and tonally shape your sounds to your liking. But what I absolutely love most about the MV-1 is that it takes me back to my old-school linear workflow back when I enjoyed making music the most, while providing me with modern production tools to sequence, mix, and master my tracks as a finished work without the need to connect to a computer. And since I am both a standalone and DAW music producer, the MV-1 pleasantly sits right smack in the middle where I can find that space of inspiration with the best of both worlds. Needless to say, I am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to dropping tracks very soon. any idea why pads 1 and 13 are slightly different coloured ? Also are the 3000 sounds internal or only on the SD card ? because mine i bought used w/o SD card..

Not really sure if your pulling my leg 🦵 and this is some kind of joke or if your serious. If you bought urs without and SD card, I would assume that you’ve turned it on and are able to answer that question for yourself. But just in case your not joking around, the sounds are internal the SD Card is for loading and saving your projects, as well as adding additional instruments 🎸, and samples to your projects. So if I were you, I wouldn’t create any thing until you get an SD Card! 👍🏾
