I just got one last week. I love the effects it produces but every time I try to record a vocal track with it, it also picks up all my beat and drum patterns with my audio and I cant get a clean vocal take for the life of me. idk if I'm doing something wrong I've read the manual and got the driver installed right someone please help me! much appreciated. I'm just about to send it back if I cant get it fixed any advice will be very much appreciated!

@PhillyWatts 3 жыл бұрын
In your DAW you should have 6 input options to record from. Mix (1-2) is the one you're most likely using. Change it to WET (3-4) for the effects to be recorded or DRY (5-6) for dry vocals only. Hope this helps!
@shadygrizzly
@shadygrizzly 3 жыл бұрын
@@PhillyWatts yes I've switched thru all of them but then once I I record my vocals it has the effects. And sounds good. But if I mute all the other tracks and only play the audio I recorded it plays back all the drums and beat pattern with my vocals and I cant figure how to just get my vocals by them self on a recording without getting the extra audio in the recording too. If that makes sense.

I actually use the VT-3 on PS4 for the purpose of vocal entertainment from time to time.. It looks as if the VT-4 is an upgraded version... And to the one asking about how to hook them up them up on console.. It would require a 5 channel mixer at least.. The mixer goes to the PS4, and the VT device goes to the mixer, your mic goes to the VT as well, so ensure you have a XLR mic, not a USB... Im not sure if the VT-4 is USB compatible.. Im not even sure if my settup method would work with the VT-4.. So far it looks like it should

Hello! The VT-4 is also a mic preamp and recording interface on its own. No need to use a separate one. Basically inside your DAW, you'll set the VT-4 as your interface, then you'll choose input 3-4 for recording stereo with effects or just 3 for mono. Input 5-6 is the dry vocal, or just 5 for mono.

@@PhillyWatts so the vt-4 is an audio interface too?...will it handle all the windows sounds like the focusrite would? like...if i watch a movie on my pc ittl provide the sound for everything? or is it just designed to go into a line in on the foicusrite.....so confusing because i want to use my ART tube mic preamp for the tube warmth and i have the focusrite 8i6 as my interface...plus iu have this vt-4 so knowing what hooks up to what is going to be a nightmare it seems

@@divinityvrms6743 Yes, the drivers automatically install on Windows 10 and will work exactly like a Focusrite (I own the 2i2). There will be no need to use the 8i6 for vocals any longer now that you have the VT-4. If you're really looking to use the ART tube preamp, I would run the mic into that and out into the VT-4 and you should be just fine.

@PhillyWatts
@PhillyWatts 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! If your wireless microphone has a 1/4 inch receiver/antenna, it can plug right in. It won't work with usb microphones or wireless usb microphones. As far as connecting to an external audio system... there are stereo 1/4 inch outputs on the back of the VT-4. You can just run them right into speakers, as the VT-4 is its own audio interface. If you do choose to connect to a separate audio system and you run into noise issues, I would suggest running it through a DI box first and then into the audio system.

Since its a condenser mic, you'll have to turn the "mic sens" knob all the way down and connect the AT2020 to the back of the VT-4 with an xlr cable. Unfortunately no, you must have a microphone that connects through XLR cable or balanced 1/4 inch cable.

but can it be used at the end of a current mic chain and bypass the build in preamp?
@PhillyWatts
@PhillyWatts 4 жыл бұрын
It does have 1/4 inch outs as well as a combo jack input. Not sure how you would bypass its preamp though.
@39zack
@39zack 4 жыл бұрын
Philly Watts same way as say an focusrite scarlet 2i2. If you there connect an 1/4 jack it bypasses the mic preamp, I guess the VT4 does the same thing since it has a combo jack but can't find any info on it.

Hey! I just looked into his setup. I'm pretty sure he uses the VT-3, but you can get the same type of sound with the megaphone and pitch shift effects of the VT-4. Just turn on megaphone and pitch up until you achieve that sound. Also, you'll have to do a nice convincing granny accent. He explains it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGTUkqJvmLWrj6M

Can anyone help me? I've just bought this for recording vocals with, cubase is the daw software I use, ive managed to connect it and it sounds great and im recording along with my track and for some reason after a take when I solo the vocal (just recorded) you can hear the track in the background so its somehow recording the song along with my vocal and I record with headphones so I dont know how this is happening and im not sure how to stop it
@jdanielcramer
@jdanielcramer 4 жыл бұрын
Usually this occurs when the monitor signal (background music you’re hearing) leaks out of the headphones into your vocal mic. You could try headphones with better isolation like ‘closed back’ phones. I don’t have a VT-4 to test it but I doubt the audio track is leaking in the device itself.🤔

Hey bro, do you know how to access the new VT4 Reverb and EQ fx that are downloadable via AIRA microsite..?
@PhillyWatts
@PhillyWatts 4 жыл бұрын
This is the directions from ROLAND: aira.roland.com/soundlibrary-cat/vt-4/ + Unzip the downloaded file and obtain "VT4_EQUALIZER1.PRM". + Connect to your computer 1. With the VT-4 powered-off, connect the VT-4 to your computer via a USB cable. 2. While holding down the [VOCODER] button, turn the power on. The [ROBOT] button and the [BYPASS] button light, and the scene memory buttons through the [MANUAL] button blink while moving between left and right. 3. On your computer, open the “VT-4” drive. + Restoring (** I think this means installing**) 1. Copy the backup files(downloaded and unzip files) from your computer into the RESTORE folder. 2. When copying is finished, perform the appropriate operation on your computer to disconnect the USB drive. 3. Press the [MANUAL] button. 4. When the blinking button goes dark, turn the power off and then on again.

If you're on windows 10, you'll have to plug it in and leave it on for a bit. It will automatically install in the background after a few minutes.

Yes, but you'll have to use it in a subtle way and you'll have to know the key of each song being sung. The key wheel on the VT4 shows all major keys. In order to achieve minor keys, just go to the same major key and turn it 3 clicks to the right for the minor key. For example, for C minor go to C and turn the wheel 3 clicks to the right. Good luck my friend!
