I have two XV5080s full of SRX cards I bought them in 2002. I think that this model is Roland's best digital synth ever! I haven't got the chance to listening to the new Jupiter X and compared them. Also the DA converters of the XV5080s are super great even for today!

Great to see that someone is still making patches for the 5080. I used to have one, and am thinking about picking one up again since they are around $300 these days. The XV-5080 sounds better than my Integra-7. I'll be picking these up for sure.

@@MrMusicopath I actually purchased a real XV-5080 for $300 last year. Its way better than software. Plus, I can sell it down the road and recapture some of my money. You can't do that with software.

These patches are outstanding. Way better than the factory presets. The pads are simply glorious for ambient blade runner style soundscapes 😍 I loaded mine from my Mac using snoize sysex librarian via Roland MX-1. This worked fine after a few painstaking hours trying and failing on my JDXi and TB-03 which didn't pass any sysex messages to the 5080. I'm using a smartmedia card for extra patch banks so I can load these and the Don Solaris patches which offer completely different sounds - definitely worth getting both!

I have a 5080 and 5050 and love them dearly. I just wish, like with Korgs of that era, there was a way to overwrite all of the useless dated acoustic presets and fill it with marvels like presented in this video.

Its not a problem - buy sd card and rewrite 10-15 Ram banks

I have Fanton xr, but i prefer xv 5080. Xv and JV the best sounds of Roland.

The fantom xr have the same engine of the XV with improvements.
