After having watched both the JD-08 and the JX-08 I'm still pretty excited about these new releases. However having both a JX-03 and JP-08 I'd like to say that usability would increase 10x by growing the size of the boxes. Why don't you go for 19" rack width with the option of adding rack ears to them? With a little bit bigger space and nobs (and 43 cm instead of 30 cm) it would be a lot easier using these boutiques. And hey, you skipped the pitch and modulation bars and upgraded to usb-c (which is good since micro-usb was never really fool proof), so I believe there would be a much bigger market for these gadgets by just increasing them in size to a boutique mark 2. And this would open up for a full-size keybed of 2 octaves or 3 octaves for the mini toylike keybed (which are really hard to use for someone who is used to play synth or hammer-action keys) and the missing pitch bender. Improve the series by making them a little more user friendly, please!
@Ferrichrome2 жыл бұрын
A rack format would be great for a lot of these boutiques, they feel just a little cramped for their large feature set. I prefer what Korg does. If they make a small synth, like the Monologue, they usually make it simplistic to match, which makes it a powerful little box that is quick to use. Same thing with the bass station 2. This thing unfortunately has the negatives of being both small and complex to program at the same time.

MIDI keyboards do exist sir
@patsonmusic2 жыл бұрын
@@t55a2 Of course they are an option, but a midi keyboard won't increase the size of those tiny slides and knobs. I've used a JX03 in a live situation and it:s not very user-friendly. Also Arturia's Minibrute is more playable than the Microbrute which has those awful minikeys.

The only analog boutique sized module they released was the SE-02 and it was mono, I just hope if they were to release future boutiques like a JP-04 or other past synths, that they release fully polyphonic ANALOG boutiques at the same price as the SE-02, going back and re-releasing old boutiques doesn’t make business sense (except for the early models, I mean cmon man 4 voices??) now that I think about it, a re-issue of the Jupiter 8 synths with a built in Jupiter 4 engine, 8 voice polyphony would actually fly off the shelves

If you use the JD-08 in a MIDI multitimbral configuration your channels 4 and 5 will generate a basic waveform on the JD-08 no matter which channels you choose. It is impossible to eliminate them, this is a fundamental flaw of the software. We have been waiting for months for an update that eliminates this major flaw.

@@mrbreaker101 Um no... the boutiques I liked got retired relatively quickly. Why go through the trouble of design and launch of a product if you are just going to give up on it? I mean do I got to wait for Behringer to clone everything?

Cool demo, how many voices does it have, and how many steps long is the sequencer?

Wonderful Synth, this time Roland nailed it. It could still improve the next models with at least the amp section going analog, if this approach was taken with the JP-08 we would have had a masterpiece everyone wanted. I would not change my JP-08 for this but it's just personal taste. Otherwise amazing built.

Hey @RolandChannel, you guys need to cool it with the demos by David. He should not be allowed to do this any more. Every single time he demos a product, I have to buy it. This has to stop! I'm going to petition my congressman.

I know what you mean. I'm checking my sweetwater card to see if there's enough available limit. It's about 75.00 shy of what I need to get this to my house this week. 75 dollars.... It'll be here this week lol. I'm so weak

Now that you guys are able to get eight voices out of a single Boutique synth, how's about making that available as a firmware upgrade for the entire line? It always struck me as nonsensical that the JP-08 and JU-06 didn't actually have eight or six voices, as the names would suggest.
@subs47942 жыл бұрын
Aren't all their boutiques all digital, virtual analog toys? They could have made 128 voices with fully multi timbrel, in the same size, no problem. The itsy bitsy teeny controls and toy keyboard make these units a joke instead of a proper usable desktop/rackable synth like other manufacturers make.

@@subs4794 With the exception of the SE-02, the other Boutiques are either ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) or DCB (Digital Circuit Behavior). Obviously the SE-02 is true analog.

@@cubdukat so out of over a dozen boutique products, the only one that is not digital/virtual was made by Studio Electronics...
@MusicZeroOne2 жыл бұрын
@@subs4794 There’s limitations due to the ACB, it’s not like using a plugin on a pc. Chain 2 together, still cheaper and more reliable.

excellent roland.. i never had any synth from roland but having the jd 800 was a dream to get and now i think on my birthday later i will buy this. and good that it is not big i could put it on my table in my room.. my question - same sound as the bigger jd 800?
@rolandglobal2 жыл бұрын
Glad you like it! Yes it has the same sounds as the original, and more actually. The JD-08 includes the original 64 presets from the JD-800, plus 21 new presets with total memory for 256 patches. The JD-08 includes the original 108 waveforms, multi-phase time variant envelopes, two-stage multi-effects, and tone sliders all found on the original JD-800. You'll love it!
