I remember I was living in Columbia SC and my oldest son was Developmental Delayed. He couldn't talk and he had Autism. I had to walk my daughter to the bus stop and I couldn't leave him in the home so I had to take him with me to the bus stop. It was very hot that day and he was getting aggravated with the bugs and he was sleepy. He started hitting me a little to let me know he wanted to go back into the home. Someone thought he was attacking me and called the police. When the police got there I was trying to explain the situation. This is my son that was disabled all his life and I knew him better than anyone. The police wouldn't listen and told me to take him in the house or they were going to lock him up. Thank God my daughter's bus came and I immediately took him home and laid him down. He went back to sleep and was fine. Police don't listen! They do want they want behind that badge.

Affirmative action fought for by Black people during Civil rights is affirmative action for all. Especially for those who didn't fight for it but can freeload from it. Afghanis, Ukrainians and even DACA/illegals may will benefit more than the African-Americans, whose family members fought, faced imprisonment or death to get it.

@@joshuamccall8043 If not for African Americans. Affirmative Actions would not exist. Therefore it was created to stop discrimination, however all minority groups qualify, it's not the African Americans that is messing it up, no we made it better. It's not the African Americans discriminating against Asians, it's European Americans. You Asians were not here, and cannot remove an ACT to suit yourselves and that would be people like you. There was no argument during the brief that spoke of Asians, it was being generalized and White American added. No you Europeans many were not here nor do you come before the people that Affirmative Actions was created to protect, that it should be removed to solely benefit Asian American, and certainly not White Americans whose racism and discrimination harmed the African Americans. Which is the reason we have Affirmative Actions.

He has assimilated his entire life as a pseudo black man and he needs a reality check instead of having an identity crisis of being a black man . He has covered up who he really is his entire life and has gotten away with it.He would never be in favor of affirmative action ...why because it would be too much for him to see that all people of color and ethnicity should have the same privileges, equalities, human dignity and rights that we so much deserve

The important thing to consider is that there is conscious bias and unconscious bias. Bias is unconstitutional in hiring and application approval practices. People with conscious bias think they are justified to use bias in their hiring and application approval practices. Unconscious bias cannot be avoided in hiring and application approval practices. Affirmative action is currently the only remedy to counter a portion of the damage done by bias. Until we find a better way, it is the only way. We cannot expect institutions to apply affirmative action without legal abutment. It would invite a financially prohibitive and endless number of lawsuits if they do. Affirmative action is to hiring and application approval as democracy is to governance. It is the worst method except for all the others. Thomas is being intentionally obtuse. My children have understood the value of diversity since they were less than 4 feet tall, and they're white. I don't believe he is as stupid as he sounded. He is simply a callous, bitter, fussbudgety, out-of-touch, old fogy.

This is Clarence Thomas’ statement during yesterdays oral arguments in the case that could mean the end of affirmative action in education: “I have heard the word diversity quite a few times and I don’t have a clue what it means…” So if I understand him correctly, Clarence Thomas, the former and longest serving chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, doesn’t understand how diversity plays a role in education and then continued to have no clue when three highly skilled attorneys tried to explain it to him using everything except the pop-up book version. There is a precedent for ascension of Herschel Walker and his name is Clarence Thomas.

Roland is tripping about College Game Day which has been on ESPN, the biggest sports platform, since 1993. Jackson State is a unique situation in regards to HBCU support. One tide doesn’t lift all boats. Even before Deion arrived on the scene Jackson State has consistently led FCS football schools in attendance. Deion has taken it to another level. The market & interest isn’t there to do a college game day format for HBCU football. Nor does Roland have the platform or infrastructure to command the same type of Dollars from a sponsor for a HBCU game day. The game day format isn’t just about the one game and two schools that are playing. It’s a show highlighting the most important games of the day. Colleges game day is used as a marketing tool to drive viewership of college football on all of ESPN’s program. It’s an integrative approach. Roland’s argument makes no sense given the focus of the Black Star Network. Nonsensical argument.
