Thank you ma'am for providing us the 2nd part of this lecture. In previous lesson we learnt about the basics of Citizen Journalism but now you elucidate it more making it helpful for viewers. Citizen Journalism provides a platform for individuals to be considered and acknowledged on a global scale. The circulation of information and news does not fully divulge the accurate perceptions of what is going on in the world. Citizen journalism has added a new and refreshing dimension to mainstream journalism , through all kinds of forum - internet, twitter, social media etc, It is a tool by which an ordinary citizen can report on issues which for some reason have not received due attention by the authorities . It is in a sense a form of unconventional reporting but has proved very effective in projecting the views of the people .We have seen examples of this during the floods in Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu and Kerala , the Nirbhaya case etc where peoples views on the action of the Government came under scrutiny . In the case of corona crisis , several reports by citizen journalists appeared in China but strict censorship dampened their impact. In India people have taken to the internet and twitter to report on conditions prevailing in several areas through blogs or images . #vartikananda

While in part 1 of the same video Dr. Nanda discussed the issue from an external, holistic purview, this video reaches the very bottom of the trend and surveys the position of the person in the role of a citizen journalist. This lecture is encouraging, informative, and holistic and compels citizens to understand the weight of the new-age journalism they're all engaged in knowingly or otherwise. Thank you, Ma'am for this lecture! #vartikananda #citizenjournalism #internetjournalism #journalism
