Halfling barbarian that I've dipped into a lore bard. She only knows one song, a bawdy dwarven drinking song. Her instrument is a flute she carved from the femur of an ogre She can only cast spells with no material components, because she doesn't recognize it as casting spells. Her "performances" consist of telling stories about monsters she and her party have killed.

That, honestly, is a super cool concept!

Getting ready to play a bard for the first time. This video was gold. Very well presented, sir. Got a lot of great ideas!

Thanks! Great compliment to receive. For me this is just a healthy energy outlet, but it's great being appreciated and to know that people like what I do!

This is such a great video and I really like the ideas you have~! I have a dancer bard who I haven't played yet, but when you mentioned the dancer's interpretation of Song of Rest, I imagined them giving a short yoga class for the party or using their soothing voice to guide them through a meditation exercise~! I really want to flesh out some more RP elements for my characters now. Thanks for the inspiration, one bard to another~!

Thank you very much! Glad I was of some help. I got a lovely image of the party wizard and barbarian doing Yoga and getting stuck now.

@@TheAtticDungeon. Note to self; tell party members to remove their armour FIRST before trying to teach them an upward-facing dog pose x'DD. But the other party members trying to help the wizard/barbarian out of their predicament seems like a good opportunity for comedy tho ;D.

The first character I loved playing was a bard. Ever since, I have a soft spot for them. My wife recently picked up a fondness for bards too, thanks to playing one in Gloomhaven and new Pathfinder.
@TheAtticDungeon.5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they are a very likeable class. The Gloomhaven bard is a wondrous support character. Played it myself. Great enabler!

Def playing a half orc mime player bard next time
@TheAtticDungeon.5 жыл бұрын
I actually thought about talking about a mime as well, but the verbal components for spells were rather annoying to incorporate :D.

@@TheAtticDungeon. Same with other motion based homebrews like dancer as well I guess. Seems like a fun idea to flip off or moon a ghoul as Vicious Mockery

A bard who is a fashion designer? A bard who is an extreme sports type?
@TheAtticDungeon.3 жыл бұрын
Ooh, those are nice ideas. Both would fit really well I think. I can see the designer's illusion spells being fabric creating stuff. Would have to think how to fit in the extreme sports type, but it's certainly a thing.

@@TheAtticDungeon. Good ideas either come from failure or other good ideas. Your good ideas had got me to thinking about those two. 😁 I am currently playing around with a chef subclass for bard. Cantrip ideas are on fireball or bonfire, chill touch, dunno if i would want grease as a cantrip but I think it makes sense since as a chef one would be expected to have butter/margerine or fat. I originally got the idea from how some chefs put on shows, juggling their knives, fancily cut flowers and animals from fruit and vegies. everyone likes a show with fire, well you got a flambe! Shows like Halloween Wars helped with forming this idea as well. The healing aspect could be the food... The inspiration can be from food as well. "Into battle! Have some coffee!" Probably not the first to think it up either. I'm still learning D&D game mechanics so this will probably take me a while. Luckily i have a group that is letting me play this. sadly i tried to also do wizard... my spellbook is my cookbook... the fae fighter rolled to see if they could cook something out of my book... nat 20... DM says "You just made god level tomatoe soup!"
@TheAtticDungeon.3 жыл бұрын
@@richardorta8960 Thanks for the compliment! I love chef characters. I played a fighter who had cooking proficiency and inspiring leader. I frequently played out the inspiring leader as his cooking being the cause of the temporary hit points. And there's nothing wrong with god level tomato soup :D.

@@TheAtticDungeon. D&D Iron Chef 😁 Considering how chefs run their kitchens I see that working out great! Proficiency in knives? Tenderizes the meat by punching it? A warhammer that looks like a giant meat tenderizer? I would enjoy seeing that character in action! . Mine gets drunk and cooks for herself... less care, more grab watever... well her spells are hidden in her recipie book. And her ingredients for both are stowed in the same area. Don't eat anything she cooks for herself. Like wild magic, you dunno what you are gonna get. Imagine trying some left over risotto and growing donkey ears... and not knowing if they are going away or not. I put it in her backstory that people often mistrust her because they don't know if she is experimenting on them or not. Every character needs a flaw right?

I'm in the middle of finishing off a kitsune noble dancing/singing bard who also performs stage magic for audiences. Yes super complicated!! She wants to always be the center of attention, and so is very glamorous and cute!

Did you base the kitsune race of tabaxi or did you make a custom race?
