I got this in my recommendation while being curious about watches, looking for an entry-level mechanical watch, This gave me some idea about how to value watches, and I will keep looking for something around my budget in my country. Thanks for the video!

What country are you in, and what is your budget? What styles do you like? Bracelet or strap?

@@Daves_Man_Cave Leather strap, I live in India and my budget is around 25k INR (equivalent to around 300 USD), I like the classic styles with not too much going on; I found one that I like, but it's way over budget in my country (Orient Bambino gen 5), which is going for around 40k (around 500+ USD)

@@oss.aryanroy I have plenty of ideas and suggestions but the budget makes it tricky. I can do the conversion from USD to INR, but that won't take into account the tariffs or taxes your country might put on watches... But here are some suggestions to check out: 1) The Citizen Tsoyosa from this video 2) Orient Symphony III or Symphony IV(Similar to Bambino but a little cheaper) 3) Some good options from Seiko: www.seikowatches.com/in-en/watchfinder?band_material=Silicon%2CNylon%2CFabric%2CLeatherCrocodile%2CLeatherOther&price=-24958&page=2 4) Great clean and classic, under budget and you can swap out the bracelet for a strap and still be under budget: www.citizenwatches.co.in/products/mechanical/nh8350-83l

@@Daves_Man_Cave Oh my! These are actually really good! Apart from Tsoyosa, which is around 475-ish USD in my country, which goes way beyond the budget, the Seiko SSB342 looks really close to what I like! The Citizen NH8350 also looks like a good choice; it would really look great with a good leather strap. This has helped a lot! I might end up going for either of those 2! I couldn't find much about symphony; I don't think they sell that, unless I go for importing them. Once again, thanks a lot! I had one more doubt. There is this new watch company called Argos Watches in my country, and they have a tempting watch too I was on the lookout for. It's way below my budget, but looks really good! Could you look at this watch for me and tell me if it's worth it if you have the time? Here is the link: www.argoswatch.in/products/apollo3-pastel-salmon-silver-suede-strap I was told they use Seagull TY2706 movement, which, to be honest, I have little idea what it means.

The Argos watches look very nice, but I have never heard of them and have no experience to share... The Seagull movement I think is Chinese. If you are gonna spend $300 USD on a watch, my preference would be a real name brand with heritage and a proven track record... Citizen, Seiko, Tissot, Orient, Bulova, etc...

Got my wife one for Christmas. It's a great watch overall but the crown is very hard to operate with man fingers. The crown doesn't have that nice click into position when you pull it out and when i was setting the date, the crown kept going back into the winding position. Everything else is great about the watch. If they made the crown larger and improved the feel and function of it, that would really go a long way.

Totally agree.

Citizen is an incredibly under-rated brand. I'd choose a Citizen watch every day over Tissot and their non-repairable junk !!

I haven't had any issues with Tissot yet, but then again I haven't owned them all that long.
