Rolex Sea Dweller Watch Review

i own a sea dweller.my mom & dad gave it to me in 79 or 80.it has only been repaired once in 84 and has not been opened since.it will gain less than 2 min. in a month.i know it is not a dress watch;but i wear it daily unless i dine out,go to church,weddings,etc.on dress occasions i wear my rolex president in 18k yellow gold.they are one of the best in my opinion.my first rolex was an air-king and it's still working to this day! i bought it new in 1968 when i was 14 y.o. the price was $125.00

Went to buy a submariner (as I was at the the time) but couldn’t source one so managed to find one of these back in 97 - best watch decision I ever made. Still going well and looks immaculate after it’s recent first service.

Great review, I agreed with everything you said, only I wouldn't/couldn't be so diplomatic when describing the newer style bloated cases with those grotesque lugs (if I wanted a square watch I'd buy a Bell & Ross). Wish you would have done a wrist shot and maybe even thrown it on a couple of straps to show its versatility. Great review.

I have a 2013 two tone Submariner; it's a lot nicer than the older model. Not only is the case nicer, the links are solid gold. Besides, the Sea Dweller is much different, can't be compared to a Submariner. Nice watch.

I think the best classic design for a Rolex would be a steel black submariner no date but this is still very nice. I just feel this watch is more suited for divers or the military.

Yes I was recently lucky enough to pick up one of these in Sutherby in London auction and I absolutely love it its the most fantastic watch and like you said the most classic and timeless design

blancpain fithy fathoms invented the design! rolex took it changed a few details and sells it as its own watch. historically blancpain came up with it! just a little heads up mate! nice watch, rockin the deepsea myself!

Its a cool watch i guess, but on a black dial why cant they use a black date wheel? also the IWC 3536 aquatimer can go deeper without the need of a helium escape valve. I just dont see the cool factor of this watch....with that said i do own a white face 16750 explorer 2 so im not a Rolex hater, im just picky.

sea dweller bigger,no cyclops.....a few reaons why i like it over the submariner.... and movado and tagheur are the brands that are over advertised and overhyped, rolex is overadvertised, but it actually lives up to its reputation
