Cool that you had all those options! I would’ve gone with the blue mother of pearl dial. I’ve had mother of pearl dials on watches in the past, and love the way the colors shift! I really miss having one in the collection.

That certainly is a very unique dial - completely distinct from the others. I was actually thinking earlier if that's the way I should go.

Great video and except for a few watches like seiko and micro brands the rest are all Tudor, I been looking at the white dial you showed and a steel/gold version with gold crown, bezel and bracelet. Also the grey iconaut is a great looking piece il try add within next six months. 👍🏻

Lets hope Tudor doesn't switch out the movement with a Sellita while they're at it (they've quietly started using Sellitas).

Austin, the Tiger dial is very impressive because it’s made of a carbon fibre and the dial has different colour shades depending on the light source. That Tudor, is a mini master piece probably the best bang for you’re $$ for a quality mechanical watch. I like the blue....with the logo shield at 12 o clock. Best regards on your choice.
@watchsymposium4 жыл бұрын
Good bang for buck indeed! Just to be clear, the Tiger dials are the same as the other dials, except for the "Tiger" text. There's a Tiger version for every non-Tiger counterpart, except the 6, 9 dials with the logo to the right of the hand stack (at the bottom of the page I was given).

@@watchsymposium Yea, .... very interesting, I didn’t know all those other dials where made from carbon. I was thinking it was special to the Tiger models only?

Is the movement in-house or ETA? If it's an ETA movement then it makes sense that they would just swap the movement rather than service it. Those off the shelf movements are cheap enough to be treated as disposable.

It's an ETA movement that Rolex refines and finishes.

Recently Tudor replacing their third party movement from ETA to sellita (T600). Not sure whether or not your watch will be equip with T600 movement if RSC do swap the movement
@watchsymposium4 жыл бұрын
Do you have a link to some information about this? This is the first I've heard of it.
@TheEricsheng4 жыл бұрын
@@watchsymposium Hi Austin, I saw it on the two link attached below. And I do realise Tudor’s website mention their third party movement powered Tudor using Calibre T600 now. www.watchuseek.com/threads/how-can-i-found-out-if-my-recently-acquired-bb36-is-using-a-sellita-t600-instead-of-an-eta-calibre-2824.5255784/ www.reddit.com/r/Tudor/comments/jx3exq/black_bay_36_caliber/

Thanks, I'll be sure to ask/check. But I don't think they would do that, as the Hydronaut never left the factory with anything but an ETA movement. That would be downright scandalous if they started doing that.

Well, here in Japan they give you back your dial. But other countries have different rules about returning switched out parts.

Another great video Austin! I’m looking forward to seeing the new dial on the watch when you get it back from RSC. If it’s not too early for you, I’d love for you to join us on “Sunday with the Punters” on the Flippin Zippo channel. We livestream every Sunday at 2pm EST. It’s an open discussion on all watches and everyone is welcome to join in.

Looking good Austin. I never wear a mask despite the mandate and yes the social pressure is a joke but I don’t believe in it so that’s that. Question : does RSC do this in America ? As far as switching dials ?
@watchsymposium4 жыл бұрын
Good question, Bud - from what I gather the RSC's in each country have their own specific rules. RSC in Japan is really good about letting you switch out parts, and keep the ones you switch out. In others, it's a one for one switch.

Why NOT wear a mask in Japan to do these vids? We could hear you fine. 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do'
