Hi Tony…female fan here. Congrats on this classic. My fave Sub! I’d love a 14060M myself….had a 16610 many years ago. Enjoy!

Hi. Awesome! I have a few female viewers. Hopefully you can pick one up soon. 🎃🎃🤙🤙

I own both a 16610 and a 124060. The ceramic Sub is a better watch, but I prefer to wear the 16610. There is some "magic" to the pre-ceramic Subs that is not present in the new ones. Enjoy your beautiful 14060 in good health, Tony!

I bought a Rolex Submariner 14060M in 2002. It’s in perfect condition. 2 years ago I got on the waitlist for a Daytona. With the recent 3% price increase and 9% sales tax, the price would be about $17,000. I took myself off the list this month. I’m a simple guy and I only have one left wrist. I’d rather be wearing the sub. I watch all your videos.

Great review Tony. I have the Rolex Kermit 2008. And the 41 starbucks. There is definitely more of a charm for the 5 digit sub ref. As you say the new Starbucks is definitely not a tool watch any more. For me the 41 is a better size for my wrist. Really you should just have both models. They are both nice watches. 👍.

I always wanted a 5513 but in 2016 came across a great deal on a 1991 14060. Years later I always felt I settled but when I compare the last few years of production of the 5513 of 1984 - 1989 and the replacement 14060 I realise how similar they are. The way Rolex raised the sapphire crystal on the 14060 gave the feel of the last few years of the low profile dome 5513 and since the both had trip lock crowns and white gold indices making them closer than ever. The 60s - 70s 5513 with the painted on indices really is what I was looking for but of course all pre white gold dial one are more pricey.

Cool watch and great comparison - have been trying to to decide between the 14060m and 124060. I tried a 14060m that fit my wrist well - leaning that way and the review helps. I like the 4-liner.

Does the clasp close secure or come apart easily. I've seen on forums if one end gets pulled on it may release.

Mine is pretty secure. I have no worries with it.

Great pick-up, Tony. I used to own a 14060 from 1999, it was a "Swiss Only" model, and I sold it (like an idiot). Wish I'd never let that one go.

Hey Tony-Mine is a 2994 :). I love the GMT on you as well as the 14060M! Perfect sizes on you. I definitely prefer the 14060 to the current submariner reference, and I prefer two lines instead of four :).
@talkingtimepieceswithtony2 ай бұрын
I’m guessing yours is a 2004? 😂 I definitely agree. I do like the 124060, but the 14060m is definitely perfect! I prefer the 2 lines as well. Thank you. 😊🎃👻💀🦇

I like the aluminium bezel better than the ceramic one. The hollow end links make the watch feel better on the wrist. The new sports models Rolex watches are too heavy and too “blingy” for my liking. I still prefer the Tritium dials better than the superluminova ones. A 5513 with a gilt dial would be my aspiration. However the prices are getting more and more out of what I’m willing to invest in an “old sub”.
@talkingtimepieceswithtony3 ай бұрын
Yeah, the 5513’s are definitely getting up there in price.

I'm in the same boat as you regarding the newest sub. Once I got my GMT Master ll, the new sub just felt too big.

I don’t understand why Rolex can’t aline the Logo on the crown, so the Rolex logo is upright position when fully screwed in. I had my Sea Dweller serviced, the new crown came back with the logo perfectly upside down positioned. It’s annoying for my OCD disorder. Lol.

Are you sure the links are solid. I thought all the 14060s had hollow links
@talkingtimepieceswithtonyАй бұрын
Key points about the Rolex 14060: Hollow end links: The 14060 has hollow end links on its bracelet. Vintage feel: This hollow link design gives the watch a more vintage aesthetic. Later models with solid end links: Newer Rolex Submariner models, including the 14060M, typically have solid end links. I have the 14060m.

Hey Sean, did you send me a request on FB? I usually don’t accept, but if it’s you I accepted. I see you’re a Monkees fan? I worked with Bobby Hart from Boise/Hart a lot back in the 90’s. He wrote a lot of songs for them.

@@talkingtimepieceswithtony Yes Sir. I am a huge Monkees fan. I've seen them a bunch of times all over the country. I miss Nez. I went to LA to see him at The Troubadour in 2018 when he reformed The First National Band. I worked with Bobby Ferrari teaching audio production in Las Vegas. Bobby was Micky's bass player back in the day. It's crazy how small the music world is. 😀

@@seanmiller7187 that’s awesome man! Very cool! I was doing session work on a musical called Uprising, as well as worked on a Micky Thomas record that were all recorded at Bobby Hart’s studio at his home in the Hollywood Hills. I always appreciate your awesome comments as well.

2 lines of text is so much cleaner man. Reminds me of my 124270 Explorer 1 dial. Also very clean. I have the newer Sub (116610) and GMT as well. You are right the GMT is so much more comfortable! I scratched the 14060 itch with a Tudor BB58 in blue. Very similar case design to 5 series Rolex and can pick one up for $2500!

I tried on a 1976 pepsi a few weeks ago. Hollow links and jangley bracelet clasp. Felt cheap and disappointing. I didn't know they did the sub with the full links but still the old style bracelet clasp. An interesting mix for sure! I've been considering getting the new sub (date) from my AD while I wait for my GMTs to come in so this video was very informative. Keep up the great work!
