Die Seiko ist nicht so ganggenau wie die Rolex weil sie nicht chronometerzertifiziert ist... aha. Die Toleranzen bei Seiko sind zwar nicht so eng wie bei Rolex, tatsächlich hatte ich aber schon viele seikos und die liefen alle in Bereichen +/- 5 sek. Eine japanische Uhr unterwirft sich keinem Schweizer Standard, warum auch?

I owned both, and I purchased the green sumo about a month ago. Turnout I like it better than the Hulk, the green is more subdued yet classy, not "in the face" like the flashy Hulk.

I’m so glad to read this comment. I have owned the hulk for a few years now and have been tempted to buy the green Sumo. I think the Sumo is a better looking watch. You may have just convinced me to grab one.

You will realise the majority buyers of the Rolex are mainly 1) investors who would not even wear these and put them into safe and wait for them to rise in value 2) those enthusiasts who is aiming for Rolex because it is the “grail” watch they been dreaming for. Most of them would flip it not long after honeymoon phase. Only minority of them actually wears it daily. Seiko sumo is the one to go for here for those who really love wearing watches. Low maintenance, solid workhorse and affordable. Hell, if you are really into Rolexes but not going to burn your wallet for one, wear those high quality replicas costing usd 500-1000. Practically same as the real Rolex, sometimes better because no workmanship issues that Rolexes have.

Die beiden Uhren vergleichen, find ich nicht gut. Die Seiko was Preis Leistung betrifft klar die bessere Uhr. Aber wer sich ne Rolex leisten kann ist mit Rolex besser bedient. Die Rolex hat nach meinem Eindruck eine viel höhere Aura. Die strahlt regelrecht gegenüber der Seiko. Man hätte eine Grand Seiko zum Vergleich nehmen sollen, da wären zwei gleichwertige Giganten aufeinander gestoßen.

Die Sumo gefällt mir besser als die Rolex. Lünette bei der Rolex ist sehr blaß. Ich versteh auch nicht wieso die Rolex einen so langweiligen Boden hat. Der Seiko Tsunami ist für eine Diver Uhr perfekt passend.

For a diver's watch, Rolex is just unnecessarily small in my opinion and the power reserve is kind of disappointing. Personally I would choose the Seiko without hesitating a second. At 60 - 70% discount I could consider the Rolex. But then I really don't have the same feelings towards the brand as the thousands of people waiting in line for them do. To me it's just insane, are these people really simple enough to want something just because so many others want it too?

The brand name is swaying you. You can get a Rolex copy for $400 that is indistinguishable from the real thing unless a jeweller removes the caseback and inspects the movement.

No watch is an investment . Just like diamonds a dealer will give you 1/3 of what it retails for used . You want an investment buy rare coins or a 68-70 chrysler product with a hemi . watches are for wearing not investing

I wanted the HULK desperately but settled for the SUMO. Rolex is superior in many respects but atleast I only had to pay under $900 out the door. Plus, I don't have to "baby" the Seiko. Win-win.

For this particular model NO, sumo is a lot better aesthetically on wrist, especially on a good quality canvas strap.
