wonderfull to hear this mariachi, mex.,reggea, carribean touch of this wellknown song, espescially when youre sitting on the couch with a coffee and a toast (breakfast time here in germany) and its a good starter of the day .....good instrumentation, even heard a hammond B3 sound in the background.....love this band ..... and that happy voice of rolf ..... have a nice day in utah ...bb....now im ready for some hard stuff.....

A very funky rhythm with an almost reggae feel to it (mostly in the bass line). I like it. I watched this entire episode when Denise Hofs translated it, since it was Floor's turn on the couch. Such a fun show, andsuch a fun cover by Rolf! Cheers!

This cover is rapidly becoming my favorite cover of this song, he made a bit of a gloomy, dark song into something that makes you happy :D (and i do love the original a LOT) The change to trumpet and sax... genius .. truly genius, it gave that Latin vibe that fits so well with this song, after all, California.. is a bit of "Latin" county in its own right, and i just love it. I'll admit, i have a huge HUGE weakness for saxophones, to me that is one of the best sounding, and most versatile brass instruments ever invented. (personal opinion ofc) (correction, not brass, its a reed instrument, thnx for pointing it out Greyhound :) ) And i was hoping you'd do this song early on, and yay!! you have hehehe Oh and ofc, i almost would forget (nah not really) Rolf is a really entertaining and good singer, i love his tone, his style and ... well him.. his stage presence is great, you just cannot help but feel happy when he performs, a true born entertainer. I'd pay to see him in concert for sure, bring a bottle of tequila and just have a darn good time there. You can tell by the other singers, and ofc our lovely Floor, that they really got into it, even Henk went full air guitar, how fun is that :D Thnx for the upload, and the joy you had watching and hearing this lovely rendition of the mega classic Hotel California. Great comment, J0hnn !!! Just a quick reaction to correct a common misunderstanding. How odd this may sound, but the saxophone is no brass instrument but is a member of the wood section. All this because its sound is produced by making a small reed - as part of the mouth piece - vibrate. Kind regards from a saxophone player of many years.

Ive listened to it so many times. Rolfs version has so much atmosphere you can imagine being at the hotel California listening to the salsa/Mexican sounds.

like i have stated before …. this show as you can see is about pro singers going back to why they started to sing in the first place. forget about promotion. forget about preserving their voices not worry about how the fans are going to take it. virtually go back to that place where they stood in their bedroom singing their hearts out. just for the hell of it. becaurse it's fun.

Hotel California .... a lot of rumours through the years, about what this song means, i heard such things as Janis Joplin (shes got a Mercedes Benz) drug addiction, Hippies (The Hotel California ....THC or cannabis), Charles Manson spanish church and ranch in the Death Valley (i heard the mission bell) blackmail (you can checkout anytime you like, but you can never leave) whats your opinion Wolf Rock and others on this matter ???

Oh for crying out loud, stop the conspiracy theories, no when a song is played backward there is no special meaning, lyrics are what fits the music and vise versa. Oh, and the earth is a globe.
