This is a tribute to who Grace Bumbry is. She's simply one of the greatest ever. She was both and mezzo and soprano, and still singing into her 70s... You don't do all of that without having an awesome technique and being one of the greatest. And to all of her critics, the thunderous applause at the end is the only rebuttal you need.

If Miss Bumbry didn’t have to battle the disastrous conducting, this could have been truly sensational. Amazing performance nevertheless. She was 70 here, since she was born in January 1937 and this is a 2007 concert. Edda Moser retired from singing at age 61 in 1999, so at this 2007 concert she was probably the MC.
