If you want my opinion, I think you should do the hidden cage. Heard they look slick and thinking about doing it to my s14

You might want to throw that thing on a trailer and take it down to your local track for a safety inspection, theres room for interpretation of the rear support bar rules, some tracks require rear support bars even with a x brace, (most tbh, if so just push them back farther then your brace, it will stiffen the car even better tbh) your door bars look like they might be to low for your shoulder also and lastly make sure you fully weld the cut you put into the floor plates. GL and have fun 8)

There was good information here, but i have to comment for the sake of peoples safety... The comment you said about having a slight gap when making the welds is completely wrong, when making a cage you want the tubes to mate as close as possible so that the weld melts part of the 2tubes together. rather than holding the joint together by the welding material. Look into any metal or roll cage fabrication books, they will all say the same

I like the idea of the Supra being a nice cleaned restored quick street car but as we all know the Supra has such unbelievable tuning potential it is better to put a cage in it now and build the interior around it. Just cage it!!!!!!! lol

You sure you can't use PVC pipe? Buddy and I are going to be putting a cage in his RX7. Thanks for the pointers

Lucas Henning And yet you leave a response.... Anyway, I'm clearly being Sarcastic. I've got a 10 point mild steel cage from Jegs that we will be fabricating and welding into the RX7.

wish you luck getting that car to go straight, you never put in a roll cage with a car sitting on its wheels. The weight of your body moving around in the car will tweak your installation process and the car won't know what it should be doing. I would suggest you cut everything out and start over level car off of its wheels so it is stationary. Curiosity did you ever finish the project and did it go straight ?????
@PoorManMods9 жыл бұрын
thanks for the info, the car is not finished yet though
@carfabricatingtechniques67799 жыл бұрын
please be careful when you finish the car start out very slow, the more power you put to it the more it will act up and you won't know which direction it will want to go
@PoorManMods9 жыл бұрын
thanks, it wont be that powerful though starting out, just a stock 302 i think

Poor Man Mods im pretty sure that amount of weight distribution would only matter when your car starts pulling wheels off the ground... you'll be alright.
