This is packed with good instruction. There is one thing crossing me up though. Early in the video, bending the knees into an absorbing function is recommended. Later in the video, extending the legs to make contact higher on the wall is recommended. I see the first happening off the curb. I see the latter happening off the vert wall. Which is the right cue, though? Invaluable as always

I grew up learning skating mongo in the 90s, then switched to regular style. In the 90s people really gave you shit for skating mongo 😆 Definitely took me a while to transition, but now I can pump comfortably with either foot
@derekarmstrong14084 ай бұрын
I remember doing it a lot in the 80's, it was kinda punk and lazy looking. We called it "punk footed" in Northern Virginia. When I started again in my 30's, I heard the Mongo term and that it was a bad because you had to switch your stance constantly so I forced myself to relearn everything.

It's a 9.5 by 32L with a 15.5 wheelbase..Neil Blenders new "heated wheel" company..nice concave too...when I got back into skating after a 30+ year break I went through alot of Popsicles (kept getting bigger and bigger) until I figured out this is what feels right.(a shaped deck)..not quite the beast I rode in the 80's, but a great fit.

Hi JB, loving your channel for years now! I have a little suggestion equest, and it's because of the constant flow of beginners coming to me and my local skate group for gear help. I think you could help quite a few people if you do a comprehensive guide on what to buy. Budget is an issue, but so many of them end up starting with a wallmart board or some overpriced accessory like a penny board, and get discouraged from the poor experience. Even with completes from skate companies, I see people dealing with bearings that barely roll, and trucks barely turning. I've been suggesting completes from dwindle which should all come with tensor trucks, which aren't my choice of trucks but still better than blanks. Maybe you could cover the major brands for each board part so they could have a safe option to choose.

Sounds good, I will make something for you all. Thanks so much for your support and for considering others. 💙🛹🦉🛹💙

@@SkateparkLessons thank you for the positive response! I'm not sure if you are involved with skate brands and how much you would be comfortable recommending certain products, but general lists of what brands are tried and true should help people from having a terrible time with some chinese toy, which skaters would never wish upon their worst enemies lol Have a great day!

I've got a proper mental block on rolling in. I can and used to do it but I hung up once and went straight to my knee. Just found out yesterday that I now have arthritis in that knee and it's likely from that injury. I'm gutted 😔.
