This is an excellent backpack pattern and I love making it. I have made 4 of these backpacks for family and friends and I keep getting asked for more. I have made one adjustment and that is that I line the back with a foam stabiliser and then quilt it before attaching it to the front. I wish we could upload photos so that other people can see how the backpack looks in other colours. I have now bought the pattern for the smaller backpack and look forward to making that up too.

Thank you so much. It took me about 15 hours to complete my backpack. I had a new walking foot sewing machine. This is my second sewing project . Now I'm sewing like and old pro. Next is the messenger bag.

I would sew the straps coming out of the top of the 2inch webbing instead of the bottom. That way it doesn’t want to flip that webbing over when you’re wearing the bag.

Hey there! Great content, enjoying the production quality and clear/concise instructions. I am relatively new to sewing, can you tell me why you prefer this method of cutting out individual pieces for the bottom and sides over one of the two following options: 1. One back panel that includes dimensions for sides and bottom (bottom corners cut out to be sewn together to create two bottom backpack corners), which is then sewn to the front panel 2. One long strip for the sides and bottom (small cuts made at bottom areas of strip that will be sewn to the corner material of front and back panels to prevent resistance) Thanks!
