I got my brother 3034 in September and have really enjoyed getting used to it as I have never used an overlocker before. I got three extra feet with my machine and have used the manual to try them out, I have had a go at the rolled hem on a thicker fabric though. Your videos are great. I must get my head around different fabrics and tensions though. Thanks again

Very clear video and so helpful. I have one question... my needle keeps unthreading do you know why this could be happening?
@AbisDen5 жыл бұрын
You may need a new needle, when it’s blunt, it drops the thread easily. Or you may have too much fluff inside the machine.

Could I ask about needles. My machine, a Singer S010L states needles 2022 but I’m wondering whether I can use the ranges you have indicated. I am about the sew table runners for my daughters wedding which is quite a big job. The fabric is very flimsy, a chiffon I think and I think having a fine needle is going to make all the difference but I’m struggling to source 2022.

Thank you Abi, I am new to sewing, and even newer to overlocking (my Xmas gift from my husband - lucky me!). I love the tip about leaving the needle threaded while you remove it, and also placing a piece of fabric under the foot while changing the needle - thank you for the tips and this very clear video. I am looking to do a rolled hem on a flounce (currently cut as a complete circle), but I get in a muddle when I serge and cut at the same time when I meet up with the starting point - have you any tips for this? Should I disengage the blade, or cut my circle so I can sew/cut without the issue when I get back to the starting point? Thank you in anticipation.

@AbisDen2 жыл бұрын
To me, there’s not much in it. One has a knife up at the top, the brother has the knife below. I don’t like the cheap feel of the brother machines. The singer does sew two thread, so offers a bit more. But performance on both is very similar.
