Rolled Jeep In Pritchett Canyon

Sunday morning got a call about a jeep that had rolled the day before in Pritchett Canyon. They said it needed jump started cuz the battery had died winching themselves back onto the wheels. So we ran in to get it out. Once there we realized the engine was hydro-locked from oil in the cylinders. So we pulled all the plugs and cranked it over to get the oil out. Then we cleaned the plugs as best we could and reinstalled them. After some cranking it fired up. Then we filled up the fluids and drove it out. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

I have to think that as someone who's rolled their vehicle or stuck out there because something broke has to be absolutely nerve racking. To have these capable guys show up and keep things light hearted while maintaining a professional knowledge of the vehicles, terrain and get it done attitude and never making you feel as bad as you're making yourself feel has to be absolutely worth its weight in gold. Their personal investment in your situation never ceases to amaze me.

When trail mater and the crew arrives, it has to be a feeling that the cavalry has arrived and all will be well. Rory and Mike and Shawn just get to work and figure out what needs to be done. They are a well oiled team.

Your perspective is weird to me. These plastic 4X4's break a lot. If you're going into the dessert with out the thought of, it will break, i might have to walk out. Then this is probably not the game for you. That guy knew where he was at. That place breaks real rigs. What he was doin out there in that, I would expect him to be walking.

That is why we have winches. If you can clear a nasty obstacle, good for you! BUT, if you can't clear the obstacle, it is not worth destroying your vehicle while you are miles and miles from the highway. I went on this trail many years ago on a 4x4 Polaris sportsman quad. I seem to remember winching a couple of times. I also remember tipping it over on one of the obstacles. See, I should have winched after I could not navigate the ledge. You know what they say, hind sight is 20/20. LOL
