I’ve just finished watching every single one of these here grainy days. Even that hour long Iceland one, with too many waterfalls. And the ‘interviews’. (Meaningful look to camera.) In some alternate universe, there’s a whole channel with Ten Questions victims. When you find that particular wormhole, pull me in. So anyway, thank you Jason. I need to go sell my furniture. Film will never die. It’ll just keep eating people’s souls, and living in the shadows. As I now will, also. Peace. I love you.

I think is safe to say that Rollei Crossbird is the most badass name for a film stock out there. It also conjures images of someone crossing their arms and flipping me off with both hands. Crossing the bird, if you will. The shots look sick!

I have been using Crossbird for many years and still have a stash in the freezer. As you point out, this is a E-6 film, not C-41. When it first came out, it was marketed as an E-6 film and was not called Crossbird. I looked for any old canisters of it to get the specifics of the original packaging, but could not find any. My suspicion is that sales were originally poor, so Rollei rebranded it. Many people are afraid of E-6 as they believe it is "hard to use". Also, cross processing is a real hipster sort of thing. As for the film with the yellow cast you like, it was sold under various names. Lomography repackaged it and it was also sold as ReraChrome. I have a bunch of the ReraChrome as it was one of the few films available in 127. More power to you if you like it. I shoot it with a blue color correcting filter which gets rid of the cap piss vibe.
@searchingrecords Жыл бұрын
hey! do you recommend shooting at 100 or 200? package says 100 if developed in E-6. 🤔

Seriously, loved the shots and your in-video spot for Square Space makes Rudy Giuliani's UFO/MyPillow/MyBlanket/MySlippers spot look like an effort from Four Seasons Landscaping. I shot Agfachrome back in the days when I had hair, and I'm going to look for some at my local thrift shops. I expect it will be five dollars. Andy

@JasperBunschoten3 жыл бұрын
Rollei also has Chrome CR 200, which I know is old Agfa slide film (Agfa RSX II 200). I wonder if it is the same stock as Crossbird? In any case, nearly all of the current Rollei film stocks are just rebranded Agfa films, whether it is colour or black and white film.

Hey Jason! I've had a roll of this sitting in my fridge for several years. It says it expired in 2017/19 (smudged date, hard to tell).
