Reading the comments smh…. The plaintiff explained about the electric bill, the defendant didn’t hand the money to her but paid the electric bill half of it. Which means she actually used it for what she needed it for not for anything else. They share a child. He doesn’t pay any child support either. This does matter when one parent is the sole financial provider and needed the money for the lights which she mentions a furnace issue so the electric runs the heat. For him to be able to loan or give her the money shows he did have it. The judge tried to help him by basically saying you haven’t been paying let this one go. Both defendant and plaintiff are angry with each other.

Judge Mathis has always been a child advocate when it comes to child support. He believes child support is for the child and it is not a right of the mother to deny her child support from both parents. He is also trying to protect men or non custodial parents by encouraging them to pay through the courts to protect them from false claims that can cause them to pay double. Paying child support that way cuts down on either party claims of wrongdoing when it comes to supporting the child. I would like to see a world where this is eliminated all together. She may not have needed the loan if he was paying child support. If one parents is taxed with all the expenses of supporting the child there is a greater likelihood that they may need help from time to time. He just wanted to be right in this instance but he is definitely going to learn that sometimes when you win you really lose.

Very well spoken. It saddens me to see so many ppl say child support is a weapon and it's wrong to do. Every child should be properly supported by both parents. If you had a child with someone that you don't trust to use the money for the child, use the courts to attempt to get custody.
