The two wide paths should be used as little as possibel because of the bad path finding Algorithm so guests get lost on them Incredible easy

@Smallbuilds 2 жыл бұрын
For scenario play I 100% agree. In building a park that looks realistic, I feel that 2 or even 3 or 4 wide paths look better.

@@Smallbuilds i am glad that open rct 2 has a way better pathfinding algorym than rct2/rct classic like in some situations a guest would walk back and forv on two or three path tiles in rct classic Sorry for my bad English

@@FinnDMG I didn't know that's one of the things open rct2 fixed. I keep meaning to try it out and that's a great improvement

You're really beginning to challenge Marcel Vos for the title of my favorite RCT2 KZbinr. Marcel's style is amazing, but there's something about the simplicity in your videos I just love. Wish I could subscribe twice! Keep the good work up! Would love more tips for making coasters look good! Tip 1 was great but doing custom supports would be tremendous, for example!

I agree, I love how the content differs between the 2 channels though. I go to Marcel for entertaining scenarios I wouldn't likely try, but come here for inspiration for small coasters and the scenery.

The only thing I'd add to the flat ride design is add a NO ENTRY banner to the exit path, so guests only walk out of it. Other than that, these are great tips!
@Gin-toki
@Gin-toki 2 жыл бұрын
Yes and this is especially important if the path from the exit is of any significant length, since it will just make guests lost otherwise.

I don't do that because the additional path to walk on avoids overcrowding. But in bigger parks it probably doesn't matter.

Putting parts of tracked rides, railway tracks, mazes and flat rides in little ditches makes things look nice and cozy. Don't be afraid to cut trenches for coasters to dip into. Avoid tracks being perfectly behind other tracks due to the lack of foreshortening perspective (bad readability and looks ugly). And use the cutaway view to help with creating buildings in visually busy spots or near tricky terrain.

@@Smallbuilds Thanks! I love your presentation style by the way. There's something else I've been thinking about recently with RCT - There's a sort of "emotional" aspect to building, where cutting corners and leaving things that you know are a bit ugly but can't be bothered to renovate, I tend to slip into a kind of apathy when I'm just building coasters as noodles and buildings as boxes (if I bother at all!). It's a sort of "take pride in what you make" thing where the temptation to rush ahead and build big rides can backfire later on when things get unappealing. Not sure if this is just me!

IIRC you should avoid double wide or wider paths in VANILLA rct and rct2 though, guests have poor pathfinding on them and are going to get lost

I struggle when I color a piece under a tracked ride and there's a track turn. For example, with a small 4x4 turned, do you altar the height of terrain, make all four spaces underneath it colored, or just the 3 that mostly cover the curve? Or do you never color under the track? I love to raise and color under a railroad track. I love your style of building and watch your small builds all the time. Thank you for what you do!
@Smallbuilds

I appreciate all the kind words! I think I usually just color the 3 spots under the curve, but I think either way looks good. I don't think I have any specific rules for where to put the discolored pieces, I just generally try to follow the track path for wooden coasters, trains, ect.
