Thanks for the tutorials, Sk8Fam! For this smooth back to front move, I have a few questions: 1) How important is knee flexibility? I'm not sure I can bend my knees inward as much as you can. 2) Is it true that doing this move on a smooth wood surface is a completely different ballgame? 3) Can this move be done going relatively fast as well? I think I see a lot of JB skaters throw this in with fast footwork. You are about the only one I could find that's done a tutorial on this move. God bless!
@Sk8Fam9 ай бұрын
knee flexibility is very important. if you are stiff this move is more difficult. def a dif ball game on a wood surface. there is more slide indoor vs out door so it is smoother, faster, and less taxing on the legs for sure. yes lots of ppl do this move fast, and tie it into multiple spins/turns, including jb skaters. once u get used to it u can speed it up as much as you can handle.

This smooth 180 is the point from Grapevine. There are some slight differences namely pushing one heel out to the side in the beginning. It's necessary when skating at speed. Grapevine can be forced (I certainly force my own) but this 180 needs to be executed cleanly [or you'll be paying some floor tax].

Best tutorial out there for this move. I just started skating 3 months ago off Nd on but I'm able to skate backwards on my toes Nd Ive been wanting to learn this to transition out of the nose to add combos and get better at moving thru traffic this shit helped me learn it in 5 mins inside my living room appreciate the hell outta you man. I got a question tho what is it that you do to make your skates look that way without them feeling too lose or is that something u learn to skate with when I try to fold my tounge down and skate on my toes my heel will come out and then slap back to position Is there a way to tie my laces under the tounge or what ?
@Sk8Fam2 жыл бұрын
My spray painted skates I keep that loose so I can do tricks where I take my foot out and put it back on. Having them loose your heel def can come out of them easy lol no way to avoid it. U get used to it and learn what tricks u can and can’t do. It’s a trade off for sure. But it also depends on the skate. Those skates I have on have thick padding and I skate in thick socks so it grips a little. If i wore my other skates like this they would fall off every 2 seconds lol

Do you have outdoor wheels on for skating on the tennis courts? Any other surface you can recommend to practice on with indoor wheels?
@Sk8Fam4 жыл бұрын
when I hit the tennis courts I use outdoor wheels usually. most of my friends don't tho. with indoor wheels ay type of outdoor surface can chip your wheels, so I wouldn't recommend it lol. but I skate in my basement or kitchen with my indoor wheels sometimes
