Roller-Skates Having Shoes

In Hawaiʻi back in the 30s and 40s, most school children did not wear shoes to school. Most wore slippers or more often times, went barefooted. Therefore, when seeing rollerskates the connection to it is with shoes and how Bernice and her sister were remembered as the "Yamanaka sisters who wore shoes."
