I have 2 pairs of old Rollerblade Lightning skates from the 90s. The ones with laces all the way up. Same color as the above. 1 pair is size 8.5, the other is size 9. They both fit me fine. Very comfy. Do these sizes on the old Rollerblades correlate with the sizes on the new Rollerblade Lightnings ? And are the wheelbase lengths the same as on the old ones ? I have tried other brands of inline skates with longer wheelbases and they were treacherous. I am an experienced hockey skater. Bottom line: Will size 8.5 or 9 work for me with modern Rollerblade Lightnings ? And are the wheelbase lengths of the modern Lightnings the same as the lengths of the old ones ? I hope the answer is yes. Thank you in advance for replying !

We don't have those old ones around any longer, but you can see the length of the frames on the new Lightning to compare with your old ones if you like. Sizing can be subjective, but just use the size chart with the skate and you should be good. The Lightning isn't anything weird and most order shoe size. Wheelbase is not long as you can see...there's no space between those 80mm wheels and as a hockey skater I think you would LOVE the Lightning 80. Even the 90 if wanting some more speed (less agility).

Is it easy to swap wheels? We take the kids to indoor skate rink, but also i want to do outsoor skating. Im not rich enough for two pairs of skates. But i could get a pair and swap wheels back and forth.

Yes! They have single-piece axles so super easy, all you need is one tool and they come with one 😊

These look awesome! I was considering these or the Fr Frx. How looser of a fit are the lightnings. I think im a normal foot size and worried they may be loose and not snug. Im normally a 9.5 shoe size. 266mm mando.

They are pretty wide. In my opinion they fit true to size, so just pick your normal shoe size it worked perfectly for me. My shoes are 42, i bought the skates in 42-42,5 and they fit perfect.

Do these come with a heel brake on one of the blades? If so, can it be removed? I don't want one with a heel brake. Edit: found the answer on your site - they do not come with a break! Yay!

What is big difference between twister and lightning 80 in term of weight ? Well sizes can change to little smaller?

The Lightning more relaxed in fit and with aluminum frame mounting blocks and with better buckles. The FRX a more urban feel and is a solid skate, but just different (brake not included on frx as well).

Almost love the look. I hate the puke lime green. I hate how all skates have to have a little or a LOT of ugliness to their design these days (just like shoes) Still, it's cool to see the Lightning line return.
