Rollettes Wheelchair Dance Team First Competition - ICU Worlds

The Rollettes just spent an incredible week in Orlando competing at the ICU World Championships as part of the USA National Team. It was such a new feeling for the team from the venues we usually perform in and we wanted to take this opportunity to show the world what we can do as wheelchair dancers. That entire arena chanted U-S-A before and after we performed which was an incredible feeling because it was our honor to represent you and our country. The Rollettes is a sisterhood that came together to compete for our country and I can honestly say we hit every mark, slayed every move and I’ve never been more proud of this team and what we stand for. This was the best performance we have ever done. What we do know now for next time is that we needed to have more people on the floor which unfortunately cost us a lot of points in scoring. The judges gave us incredible feedback and believe me, the east coast was not ready for what this west side team brought. We were the Rollettes from the moment we hit that floor to the moment we hit our last pose and that means more to us than anything else. For transparency sake, this post is hard for us and hard for the whole team since we saw the score sheets and know what happened. We went for gold but we’ll happily take silver. We are so excited that this sport is finally being recognized and that our friends in England repped Para Hip Hop too. Congratulations England! You helped spread our message that dance is dance whether you’re walking or rolling. To all of our sponsors, donors, family and friends- your calls, flowers, love and relentless support means the world to us and we could not have done this without you. ICU 2019 better watch out because if you think we slayed this year, you just watched the warm up. ☝🏻 😉
